Why Online Casinos Are Better Than Live Casinos

By: T. Rivers

What do gamers love so much about online casinos? Convenience? Interactivity? Bonuses? Let’s look at all three possibilities.

Convenience

People who travel to live casinos have no idea how much time, money, and energy they’re wasting. If you live on the east coast of the United States, you have a few options, which include Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Atlantic City, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, and two Hard Rock Casinos in Florida. There are many other smaller casinos scattered about, but these are the ‘best’ options. But let’s take a closer look.

Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are only 7 miles from one another. And they’re both in the boonies of Connecticut. Getting to these casinos is an event. In most cases, it’s a 1-5 hour event. Not fun. Atlantic City is right on the water, which means it’s only easily accessible if you live near the water. To make matters worse, driving in New Jersey is like taking your life in your hands, and walking on the boardwalk in Atlantic City at night is even more dangerous. Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel & Casino is a nice hotel in the Blue Ridge Mountains, so the scenery is amazing. However, the saying for Cherokee is that you go there for the atmosphere, not to gamble – everything is electronic. As far as Florida goes, you can only gamble on a regular basis if you live in Florida. Even if that’s the case, Florida is a big state and a long drive is often required.

When it comes to the west coast of the United States, there’s Las Vegas, Reno/Lake Tahoe, and Los Angeles. Those are the only three places with good gaming options. But getting to Las Vegas usually requires airfare and a hotel stay – there goes your bankroll! Reno/Lake Tahoe casino are pretty cheesy. The casinos in Los Angeles offer good gaming, but they are always crowded. We’re not even going to discuss the Midwest. Gambling at a casino in the Midwest is like diving into the black hole of the universe.

Where does this leave us? If you want convenience, consider US online casinos. Play at sites like Bodog Casino or Cherry Red Casino. These sites have excellent reputations. You can open your browser, sign up for an account, and begin gambling within minutes. A lot easier than the options listed above, isn’t it?

Interactivity

You can make a case that a live casino is just as interactive as an online casino. That might be true on the surface, but let’s take poker as an example. How many hands will you play per hour in a live game? An average of around 20. How many hands will you play per hour in an online game? An average of around 50. The amount of action you get at an online casino usually about triples. This goes for table games and slots as well.

Bonuses

No contest. When you play at a live casino, the only way you will get a free room is if you win a bundle of money. Even a free meal is extremely difficult to earn. It will usually take several days of gambling – unless you want a dry bagel or a cup of coffee. When you gamble at US online casinos, you earn bonuses within minutes, not days. These bonuses can be parlayed into tournament entries, large wagers, and more.

Overall, playing at a live casino in today’s world makes no sense. The technology available for gamers is too good to pass up. Playing at US online casinos is the way to go.
