Almost every piece of software that you will need has an Open Source option, which is to say free to use. There are ways to promote that cost nothing. Most of the time you will not even have to buy goods to sell. You can just sell for someone else and get paid a commission. Most often these opportunities are called affiliate programs and large retail sites will almost always have these programs in place. Another thing that new people ask is if it's easy. Although some would say yes, I would answer with a resounding no. There is a lot to learn to having a profitable Internet based venture, and a lot of that comes from the school of hard knocks.
