Why DO People Recycle Mobile Phones?

By: Kristi Ambrose

In this day and age just about everyone is becoming greener and trying to help mother nature out just a little bit. This is one of the most helpful "trends" in our culture.

Hopefully it won't be a dying trend though because it seems to be beneficial to everyone involved. By simple acts of recycling and reducing harmful energy production, we are not only securing a healthy future for our young, but also making the life we live day to day a little easier. A fantastic new niche in recycling has occurred, and it has to do with an item that most of us use every single day.

Those items are mobile phones. We live, now more than ever in a consumerist and slightly vain society. Most people couldn't even imagine life without their mobile phones, and probably have a few "out-dated" ones laying around, collecting dust.

Or, even worse, they've just been thrown away. But is this really such a bad thing? This article will highlight why people recycle their mobile phones, and why it is good for the environment. Mobile phones have been said to have toxic metals and chemicals inside of them.

Typically, while these are not directly linked to be harmful TO us, when exposed to dirt or water, they can be harmful to the environment and to our water supply. Not only can these toxins be harmful to humans, but to animals and plants as well.

Over the past few years and thanks to the grass roots organizations more and more people have been educated on what mobile phones can do if they are not recycled. Also, because of the education about this, people ARE throwing away phones less and less over the last few years.

If you are unsure how to sell your mobile do what I did when I decided to sell my mobile - find a recycle mobile website online. These sites will not only get rid of your phones for you (the correct way) but they will also give you cash for your phones, which is a great way to get your money back!

It makes you feel good to know that you are doing something to help the environment and it also makes you feel good to know that even though you spent X amount of dollars on a phone, you are at least getting SOMETHING back for it.

Depending on the brand and model as well as the year, you could be looking at something as low at $30 on up to $400!
