Would you like to know how your business can benefit from the internet even if you are not in the coaching business? And would you like to know how much more you can benefit, when you plan to start a business or just started one? For my coaching business the same applies as to my coaching client's business: 1. your business needs positive cash flow otherwise you go broke 2. cash flow is generated by sales from existing or new customers 3. after all you existing customers bought again you need new customers or clients And when you start out in the business world you need new customers or clients - full stop. The traditional ways to get new customers or clients have been - location - a shop front - advertising in the newspaper or the local paper - hand outs - shouting your specials at the market and - word of mouth All of them work. Some faster and some slower. Word of mouth is the slowest. Even if you ask your new customers to recommend you on, they might not do it straight away. There might be even a time delay and several months or even years for you to benefit from this form of advertising. In even got coaching clients in tough times who never had to sell, because they got recommended on when the economy was booming. But when clients became a little bit scarcer due to recession not enough work come in via word of mouth. Suddenly they had to advertise in other shape and form and they had to sell actively, which they've never done before. I taught them and they learned quickly, because their business is striving again. Traditional marketing in newspapers also comes with a price tag. Just a small ad in the local newspaper costs from around $120 per print. That is $480 a month and $5760 per year minimum. And this doesn't bring you on the front page yet. The front page is dearer, as are half page ads and full page ads. Large businesses with bigger purses have a benefit here. They easily can pay those amounts. Start-ups and small business need their marketing campaigns to be successful, that means to create sales and new customers and clients. Therefore a lot of smaller business owners didn't use the paper because they thought they are too small. When the Internet speed became faster and the prices for downloaded MB became cheaper the opportunity was born for small businesses to market their business as if they would be a big company. So did I and so should you. Today having a website is a must. Visitors and potential clients can read up on you. There you can describe precisely how they benefit when buying from you. This is also the place where you show your testimonials of other raving customers or clients. Internet marketing allows you to show your testimonials already on the landing page, that is the page people open first when visiting your website. Your website is only one puzzle piece in your internet marketing strategy. Yes it is recommended to have a written-down marketing strategy and especially a written-down Internet Marketing strategy. The most important part of a Internet Marketing strategy is to have one. You don't want to miss out on customers and clients who search the Internet. Some will just browse for information but others are looking to buy goods or services. A friend of mine checks the menu of the nearby restaurants to decide where he wants to go for dinner. When they "enter" your website it is your opportunity to entice them to look and read further. The contact of many of my business coaching clients is done via my website. This is the first impression they get from me and my business and what I stand for. Then I convert those visitors so that they are on my list or database. They subscribe to a free report. They get valuable information for free and I receive their name and email address. They read my 30 page of interesting and state-of-the art business information and I follow up with automatic emails providing them with more information and once in a while with an offer. This was the first Internet Marketing Strategy I ever implemented and it works today as good as it did in the beginning. Over time I expanded my Internet Marketing Strategy and added additional ways, also because the Internet and the usage of it is changing over time. I don't miss those times where the only way to market was with brochures, newspaper ads and hand-outs. The benefits and the new clients I got via the internet which I never would have reached otherwise is tremendous. But don't take my word for it.
