The world has now realized that before we knew it, the power resources that we are using today will one day disappear. Oil is the number one source of power that we are using today and its abundance was thought to support the power supply of all mankind for eternity. It was just until now that the leaders of the world are alarmed that one day the wells will dry up till nothing is left out, unless we find other resources that are renewable. Power generated coming from the heat of the sun has become one of the viable alternatives that have caught the attention of our leaders to develop tremendously. Although many thought at the beginning that it will not work, it has surprised the non-believers on the number of advantages of solar energy. Everyone knows that the main advantages of solar energy is that it is renewable unlike oil which is fast depleting and will take million and millions of years to replenish it. And although power cannot be generated during nighttime and during cloudy days, it will emit power for as long as the sun will shine. Secondly, solar energy is environmental friendly and do not have anything that can destroy mother earth unlike oil which creates pollutants. Once the oil is burned, it produces greenhouse gasses and carbon dioxide which is released into the air and creates a big hole into the atmosphere. This has become the number one cause of global warming. Solar cells are the house of acquired energy from the sun. And another one of the advantages of solar energy over the use of oil is that it is long lasting and only requires minimal maintenance. Many would argue that mass production of solar panels are expensive but in the long run it will be more cost efficient since the heat from the sun is for free. Oil on the other hand have seen the largest increase in prices in history and has continued to frustrate the world with its frequent increases. The increase in the production of solar energy will definitely bring down the dependency to oil and will decrease the prices of oil because of competition. In the United States quite a number of houses are being powered by solar energy entirely. The lights, television, heaters, radios and the entire appliance in a house that is needed to be livable are all powered by the heat of the sun. Although it took some time to construct and little bit more money, it has now made the proud owners grin from ear to ear since there are no monthly electric bills. They can even face the world and say that they have contributed in keeping environment clean and green and have ever since become a living testament on the advantages of solar energy. Although solar energy now has gained popularity with the majority of the population, it is still a long way for its proponents to spread the good news. But the advantages of solar energy will definitely reach the senses of our leaders and will one day reach a domino effect.
