What Can A Hybrid Car Offer

By: Happy Hippo

Some of you may not feel this question as important as it is for others, however, many people have been asking this question for many years. People questioned the viability and reliability of the alternative to the horse drawn carriage, when the first car appeared. They had the similar query when the airlines offered to transport people across continents by air.

Yes, we have got used to the conventional car in this day, and age. However, if we look at the environmental damage caused due to road pollution, we seriously need alternative in transportation. Every car owner offers a silent prayer that the car will start every time he or she turns the ignition switch.

The exceptionally designed hybrid cars offer a considerable saving in fuel costs, lower road taxes in a lot of countries, and a car that is in no doubt to start when the key is twisted in the ignition system. The oil resources of the world are fixed, and they are not being reloaded. For that reason, they will keep losing ground as more and more cars come on the thoroughfare. Eventually, the planet Earth will use up its oil sources. The hybrid cars are a primary step towards slowing down the pace of oil expenditure, and extending the time sooner than the oil possessions of the world are entirely washed-out.

The hybrid cars do not need to be plugged in to an electric outlet to recharge the batteries, which means they are self-contained. They are also fuel efficient, as they burn less fuel than conventional cars. The performance of a hybrid car is greater than the conventional cars, as it has two individual power sources to drive it, therefore, it does not compromise on its performance. As the gasoline engine is not used continuously, therefore, the hybrid car has a longer life.

Most hybrid cars do not even turn on the gasoline engine if they are moving at less than 30 miles per hour. The electric motor drives the car, and the constant starting/stopping in rush hour traffic generates the batteries, and gives the electric motor enough charge to propel the car efficiently. A hybrid car does not compromise on performance just because it has a smaller gasoline engine. The electric motor provides ample power when required to propel the car.

As compared to the conventional petrol driven car, a hybrid car is far more efficient, and cleaner. It emits lower CO2, which is known to be the major cause of the global warming. As it has a smaller gasoline engine, a hybrid car consumes less fuel than a car in the same class.

A hybrid car does not compromise on performance or efficiency, and requires fewer trips to the service center. Luxury does not have to be compromised, as has been well demonstrated by the luxury car line of Toyota, i.e. Lexus. Starting from their top of the line luxury car, the LS 600 to their SUVs, they have successfully introduced the hybrid technology.

Lexus has been very successful in selling high-end luxury cars that use hybrid technology, these shows that they have better understanding of the needs of the customers than any other carmaker. Many people want to have a luxury car, and they are equally bothered about the problems caused to the environment due to the pollution. There is a great future for hybrid cars, as more and more people are becoming aware of it.
