Utah Utes tickets - Increasing Speed is the only way to go!

By: Gen Wright

The stage is set. Come January 2, the stadium at New Orleans will be jam packed and the crowd will witness one of the bigger games the Utes have played in their history of school football. They will be entering the field as the underdogs. The Utes are prepared to give everything they have got. "To go unbeaten for the second time in five years and not get a sniff at the big prize, as Utah coach Kyle Whittingham put it, "can be a little frustrating." Whittingham has been part of seven consecutive bowl victories for the program and head coach for the recent three. The excitement surrounding the encounter can be gauged from the fact that the fans from both side crashed the computer system of Utes when the tickets for the game went for sale.

Utah (12-0) earned its second BCS bid in five years with its run to the Mountain West Conference championship. It crushed Pittsburgh 35-7 in the Fiesta Bowl in 2005. Alabama (12-1) will still be the favorites as it was the top-ranked team in the country before falling in the SEC title game against Florida. They lost to the Gators 31-20.

Utah Utes is fast, while the Crimson Tide is furious. The resilient Utes, has a boastful lineup with the likes of Johnson, defensive end Paul Kruger and kicker/punter Louie Sakoda, they would be now facing the formidable Alabama squad that has established itself as a powerhouse even in the loss to the Gators. With John Parker Wilson as the quarterback, running back Glenn Coffee and free safety Rashad Johnson, Alabama will certainly be a tougher nut to crack as compared to the Big East champion Pittsburgh in the 2005 Fiesta Bowl.

Alabama boasts of 3 All Americans, with Andre Smith (6-foot-5, 330 pounds) in the left tackle, Antione Caldwell (6-3, 305) at the centre and nose guard Terrence Cody (6-5, 365). They have already helped the Tide to get to rank No. 4 in the nation.

The biggest strength of the Utes lies in their speed, compounded with their athletic ability because of which they have managed to hold the opponents at the 104.8 yard rushing. This is the biggest and the most dangerous weapon the Utes have against a more physical and sized Crimson Tide. They are not only physical and big, but quick too. Considering the past records of the Utes speed won't be a forte where they can be beaten. The Utes have already seen these traits in the teams they have competed; the TCU, one of the fastest, and Michigan, one of the most physical team. But when these attributes get bundled and come in the form of the Crimson Tide, they will have to give it their best run.

"I've watched film of them and they're not too big, but they're really, really quick," Caldwell said. "They've got guys that even though they're not big, they're pretty explosive. To me, sometimes those are the tougher guys to go against to block."

If the Utes are able to go full throttle then we surely will have a very exciting game and the spectators would love every bit of it. After all it's not only about the berth at the BCS, it's about something bigger, it's about respect.
