Participating in trade show exhibits using trade show displays is an exciting and beneficial experience for any company but it can be very stressful as well, even for the experienced participants of trade show events. If you are a business owner and will be participating for the first time, you should avoid some pitfalls that will make all your efforts go down the drain. Every participant in these types of exhibits knows that the competition is extremely tough because each is fighting for the attendees’ attention and interest. There are some common mistakes that can make trade show profits drop dramatically. As a business owner or trade show display manager, you should observe these little details that can make or break your product or service. Knowing the errors to avoid will result to a more productive exhibit. Yes, you believe with all your heart that your idea for your trade show displays is the most effective of all and there would be no problem attracting potential buyers or customers in the event. It is not right to just feel comfy about the ideas you have implemented for the show. Keep on observing other trade show displays in the show and see what display easily attracts attendees. You may want o incorporate those ideas, well not copy it exactly, but see how you can “edit” it and apply it to what you currently have. Check on other things about your trade show display that you can improve on. Even if you sell chocolate, for example, you will always find great ideas from mobile phone booths and displays or any other type of business not related to your business, that you can also apply in attracting more attendees to your trade show displays. You may use various marketing and promotional techniques that you have learned in the show and you can use it for future trade show participations. As attendees start to arrive at the show, learn to relax. Some exhibitors tend to panic a lot and it ruins the whole presentation or trade show displays. Train your staff how to greet onlookers and always tell them to wear a smile. You may be using the best trade show display with the best ideas you came up with, but it will all go to waste if you have a staff that is unreliable. Find a staff that is a people-person. These people will help your trade show display because they love to talk to people. Make sure to give them the training that they need. Most attendees don’t take the initiative to ask questions, they just look and watch your display and even if they do have questions, they will always hesitate to ask, especially if you have a staff that just looks at them or just observes attendees. That is a mess. Attendees are potential customers and should be entertained well. Tell your staff not to be so judgmental about onlookers. No one will really know how to qualify attendees as potential buyers unless you or your staff starts a conversion with them. Trade show displays are effective in promoting your business therefore the main goal here is to connect with more people. Start collecting contact information from attendees; ask them if they would like to subscribe to your newsletter or something, so you can update them about your product and service. Give away promotional items that have your company and contact number on it. This is called planting one seed at a time and you will surely reap the benefits eventually.
