Tina Turbin Joins All Children's Hospital's Development Council

Devoting her time at St. Joseph's Hospital of Tampa

This month children's book author, Tina Turbin (http://TinaTurbin.com), joined the Development Council of All Children's Hospital, a leading center for pediatric treatment, education and research for children. Besides reading her latest book, "Danny the Dragon" to children she will be supporting children and their families in numerous ways at the St. Joseph's Children's Hospital of Tampa (part of the All Children's Hospital network) in Florida. Currently, The Development Council is working on a new family library which will help parents become better educated, which is right up Tina Turbin's alley.

Tina Turbin is an advocate for families and children and has a purpose to help them become better fortified with information they need. She will definitely be able to put that purpose to work while on The Development Council. The Council seeks members who wish to serve All Children's Hospital and work for better ways to provide quality health care for our children. They hold general meetings, membership socials, Ronald McDonald House Cook-Offs, partnership events with SAFEKIDS (a global network of organizations whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, a leading killer of children 14 and under), tours of the hospital and more.

St. Joseph's Hospital seeks loving, caring, and energetic individuals. Tina Turbin is definitely in this category. She is not only a children's book author but an artist, women's issues advocate, researcher of gluten-free products and belongs to a number of organizations that help children and others. It is no doubt Tina Turbin's philanthropic generosity will assist the hospital in their goals.

Committee members devote many hours to fundraising for the All Children's Hospital's annual events which include the Raymond James Tennis Tournament and their VIP Auction and Kick-Off Party (by invitation only) the weekend of their telethon. Their 2009 telethon, which was broadcasted live from the All Children's Hospital Education & Conference Center, raised $3,775,924. The Kick-Off Party at the Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park raised $180,000. Annually, the proceeds go to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg and its outreach locations throughout west central Florida. This year's proceeds will definitely assist funding the construction of a new All Children's Hospital and outpatient care center in downtown St. Petersburg. The new hospital is scheduled to open in December.
