Every year the Federation for Evironmental Education honours to the coastlines identified as hygeinic, secure, and with first-rate environmental awareness strategies. The Region of Tuscany has it's significant portion of Blue Flag classified shores, all along its pristine coastline. A coastline where, in just a few minutes, spectacular Agriturismo'scan be found. Toscana Beach: Summary In summary, taking Lucca as a starting point, the further down (south) the coast you travel in the Region of Tuscany, the more splendid the beaches become, and, save for the most popular period, you'll see less fellow tourists too. These are clearly the beaches that require the longest time to reach from Florence, but the differences are valuable. The Coast for the Late Nights Although at the beaches of Lucca (Forte dei Marmi, Camaiore, Viareggio) you'll find all the amenities typical of a beach resort, you would be disappointed if you were expecting a sandy paradise that was peaceful and withdrawn. If you're a young man or woman in search of love and looking for a experience by the sea with discoteques and pubs, Viareggio will not dissapoint. Summary: seventy-minutes from Florence, excellent amenities and Nightlife. Best Beaches for Pensioners By contrast, if you are a small family unit group, the shores across at Livorno (Antignano, Quercianella, Rosignano, Cecina, Bibbona, Castagneto, San Vincenzo) are a strong choice as they can be easy reached from Florence (70/ninetyminutes by bus) and have accommodation and services with focus on family stays. In Summary: 70 minutes/90 minutes from Florence, family minded. Splendid Beaches of Beauty For the cleanest beaches, noted here as the combining of the most idyllic landscapes with the most clear seas, there is a shared consensus among Florentine's that Grosetto (Follonica, Castiglione della Pescaia, Monte Argentario) always delivers the goods. In Summary: 90+ minutes from Firenze, fewer services, more panoramas.
