The Truth About Ethanol And Nitrous Oxide

By: GARKO

A week or so ago, a deputy division director of environmental quality for the Missouri Natural Resources Dept, informed us that she had been warned approximately a year ago by her counterparts in other states that biodiesel producers were illegally disposing of glycerin, the main emissions of biodiesel production, mixed with methanol, also a disposable byproduct which is classified as environmentally toxic.
Glycerin is an alcohol that is usually nontoxic and can be sold for secondary uses, but it must be cleaned first, and that is a costly and complicated procedure. Expanded production of biodiesel has flooded the market with excess glycerin, this, of course, has resulted in it becoming less cost-effective to process.
In October, an unidentified caller alerted the department that a tanker truck was illegally disposing of milky white goop into Belle Fountain Ditch, which is one of a large number of man-made routes which drain Missouri's Bootheel section. That substance was found to be glycerin from a biodiesel plant.
Earlier this year, a grand jury indicted a Missouri businessman in the discharge, which wiped out at least 25,000 fish and wiped out the population of fat pocketbook mussels, an endangered species.
Back in Alabama, Nelson Brooke of Black Warrior Riverkeeper, a nonprofit entity with the purpose of safeguarding and restoring the Black Warrior River and its tributaries, got notified of a fish kill in September 2006 that stretched twenty miles downstream from the city of Moundville. Even though Mr. Brooke said he found some kind of oil in the water surrounding the dead fish, the state Department of Environmental Management said that natural, seasonal shifts in oxygen levels in the water might have been the culprit. The agency did not charge Alabama Biodiesel.
In August of last year, Black Warrior Riverkeeper, filed a complaint in Federal District Court, documented a minimum of twenty-four instances when oil was observed in the water near the plant.

MORE TROUBLES FOR BIOFUEL

Ethanol combustion was determined to be significantly more antagonistic than fossil fuel for humans. “Ethanol is being sold as a clean and renewable fuel which has the ability to lessen global warming and smog”, said Stanford University environmental scientist Mark Jacobson.

But his studies show that the number of deaths and hospitalizations connected to respiratory conditions would increase if cars used fuel with high ethanol levels.

One experiment compared gasoline powered vehicles to E85 powered cars. E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gas. “We found that E85 cars lessen environmental levels of two cancer causing agents, benzene and butadiene, however it increases two others, formaldehyde and acetaldehyde. As a result, cancer rates for E85 are likely to be similar to those for fossil fuel. But, in some parts of the US, E85 substantially increased ozone, which is a prime ingredient of smog”, Jacobson said.
And with that statement, I confess I am now totally lost. I had been lead to believe that the whole thing that researchers are stuggling to remedy is the depletion of the ozone and now Mr Jacobson declares that more ozone will mean more smog??
Tell ya what… Just never mind the whole thing!
Much too befuddling, even for the authorities on the subject, to get a grasp of. Besides there is a much simpler solution!
For those who are unfamiliar, such as the “experts”, WATER4GAS is sharing information for a fee which people can use at home to create a small device which instills hydrogen into the fuel/air mixture that their car runs on.
What this does is make bite sized particles out of the particles that the engine uses as fuel. Therefore the system gets to use a lot more of the gas.
With WATER4GAS you can minimumly expect to increase your gasoline mileage by 12%. But many are getting 30-50% improvement or even more. Those goblets must have been pretty darn huge in some engines before. But with WATER4GAS they are made consumable so you can increase your gasoline mileage.
It also helps to lower emissions significantly.
This information has been purchased by over 9000 people already and happy members number about 99%! So that's a start!
