What exactly is the acupuncture Chinese moxibustion technique? Not many people are aware of this. Generally, many thought that acupuncture involves only the needles. However, there is another part to Chinese acupuncture, and that is the use of fire. The use of needle and fire helps make acupuncture a more potent force against illnesses. And so, we come to understand that acupuncture Chinese moxibustion refers to curing of illnesses with fire. As such, the Chinese name for acupuncture - Zhen Jiu - has the Jiu referring to fire acupuncture. It is said that the origin of acupuncture and moxibustion started with Fu Xi creation of the therapeutic stone needles, and Huang Di invention of acupuncture and moxibustion. These two are among the many legends about acupuncture and moxibustion. If you were like me, you may find it hard to believe that the acupuncture Chinese moxibustion method was in a way founded by a housewife. As she was cooking, she found her aches not being as painful as before. The heat from the stove had somehow relief her of her pain. Since this Eolithic age, this method has evolved and herbs with medical properties were added to smoke the body back to normal health. Moxa cone and cupping are two of the most common moxibustion methodologies. It is a simple idea to put fire in a thick glass jar so as to produce a suction effect. When the fire is removed from under the jar, the jar is immediately placed over the body, be it the back, the arm or whatever is the affected body part. There will be a suction effect and the jar will stick onto the body and cause the blood flow to improve. This heating forces the air out of the jar and causes a suction vortex causing the jar to stick to the body. Blood is then stimulated and increases in blood flow. This also stimulates the internal organs of the patient. The moxa cone was also used for the same effect. Do note that the placement of the jar for acupuncture Chinese moxibustion is important. It must target the relevant acupuncture points or meridians of the body so that the targeted illness can be cured. Sometimes, medicinal herbs as well as ginger and mashed garlic are added for the treatment. Typically, the jar will cup the body for about 15 to 20 minutes. Moreover, the treatment has to be conducted over a period of time. Since the ancient times, the acupuncture Chinese moxibustion technologies have improved. During modern times, potential equipment setup include acupoint injection, acupoint magnetotherapy, electronic needle moxibustion and microwave needle moxibustion.
