Enforcing positive measures towards this has been seen to bring about a solid foundation for business and human activities. Neglecting and poor management of the environment has been associated with climate change, global warming, species extinction and poor health.It is important for businesses and organizations to practice positive environmental management. One of the reasons why this is necessary is that many parts located in the northern hemisphere are 0.5 degrees warmer that it was a hundred years ago. The result of excess heat caused by managing the environmental poorly has been increased over time.The effects of air pollution and global dimming are known to block an average of twenty percent of radiation from the sun. One of the effects of this result is that it has brought about climate changes in different parts of the world such as the Arctic Circle. It is also said that due to poor environmental management, the earth would have experienced a higher temperature rise even if the effect if global dimming did not take place.Another reason why the society should consider taking up positive practices on the environment is because of the green house effect. This is associated with emission of toxic gases such as nitric oxide and carbon dioxide. The green house effect is also associated with emission of other pollutants. It is known to have gone up by fifteen percent in the last twenty years. Other gases such as methane and nitrous oxide have also been increasing in quantity as found in the atmosphere. This has brought about conditions which warm up the earth thus causing problems for animals, plants and humans.Poor management of the environmental has brought about other negative effects such as animal and plant extinction. There are animals and plant species that are already extinct as a result of environmental effects which destroyed their natural habitats. It is also estimated that a wide range of animal and plant species are under threat of facing extinction.Human activities are solely responsible for environmental degradation and deterioration. Among the plant and animal species that are a high risk of extinction include thirty two percent of amphibians, twenty four percent of mammal species, about ten percent of bid species and fifty two percent of ancient plant species. This can be reversed by taking up sound and better management of the environment.There are parts of the world that are not fit for human settlement. This is a result of excessive pollution level in the environment. Governments in affected areas have even banned construction of homes, recreational facilities and infrastructure in those areas.Another effect brought about by failure to manage and take care of the environment properly is that more and more people are getting sick as a result. Research shows that about fifty percent of Canadians will be diagnosed with a form of cancer during their lifetime.It is also known that childhood cancer incident rate have been on the rise over the years. Due to poor prevailing environmental conditions, this has been happening even with people choosing healthy lifestyle choices such as eating nutritious meals, exercising, and not smoking or drinking alcohol.One of the reasons why this has been happening is due to the high amount of pollutants in the environment. These include pesticides, heavy metals such as mercury and other toxic chemicals. These pollutants are known to bring about poor health in young children, cancer, reproductive disorders, disrupted hormone systems and respiratory illnesses.It is also said that poor management of the environmental is costly to governments as a lot of money is spent in health care as a result of illnesses. Taking care of health conditions such as cancer is expensive to economies which record a high number of patients with the illness. This is because costs associated with direct cancer healthcare. A lot of tax revenue is lost due to health conditions and disability brought about by the disease as well.It is therefore wise for businesses and organizations to use sound enviroment management polices. This can be achieved by using efficient systems to effect implementation in different sectors of economies around the globe. Mandating business sectors with sound environmental practices such as prevention, limiting emissions and how to respond to during emergencies is ideal.
