The Legacy Of Fred Flintstone, Alternative Fuel Sources Engineer (The Real Deal, Folks!) Part 3

By: GARKO

This article is the most recent in a series of amazing articles which were the result of a bit of online research I have spent some time on recently regarding the possibilities of alternative energy solutions. These articles can be found at my Water 4 Gas Blog
As improbable as it may seem, Fred Flintstone was dead on with his foot powered automobile!!! Yep, this is a major conclusion of my research! His only mistake is that as an animated cartoon character he was he wasn’t allowed to “think” big enough!
Folks are coming to realize that a major natural resource for alternative energy is human effort and it can be done without slave labor camps! Just by going about our daily routines but by being a tiny bit smarter about itwith regards to conservation and recycling of energy we can power large cities!
Well it appears that ol’ Fred had more going on in his head than it appeared! Well, it is one place where my investigations took me. I have other articles besides.
My original mission is to enlighten people about the treasure chest of alternative fuel information at my Water 4 Gas that shows people how to convert your gasoline powered car engine into partial hybrid or total water-based hydrogen burning system. But in that endeavor I have become so intrigued with the genius of alternative energy that I wanted to help publicize some of the amazing discoveries I have found with you also.
Some approaches include a dance floor that captures and regenerates electrical energy from the movements of the dancers on the dance floor to energy-harvesting shoes that convert friction from simply walking into electricity. One shoe prototype can generate about six watts, more than enough to power a cellphone. Besides Fred Flintstone, a familiar icon of the 1960s was the shoe phone used by Maxwell Smart on the Get Smart program. This is a new spin on a shoe phone!
Like many of these projects, the health club experiment isn't going to light up a skyline or even power the spa's own air conditioning. They have rigged up 13 exercize systems at one of its locations. When all of them are in use, the electrical power generated amounts to about 300 watts, roughly sufficient to run three 27-inch TV sets, five 60-watt light bulbs or several hundred video iPods. If the gym had all the machines being used and were connected 10 hours a day for a year, the spa could generate roughly $183 worth of electrical energy. At that rate, it would take about 82 years to recoup the initial $15,000 investment.
Converting physical endeavor into an electrical energy source has a long, strange history (no, we are not actually considering Fred Flintstone to be a part of that lol). The first telephones, in the 1800s, had hand cranks that generated an electrical current to notify the operator when one wanted to make a call. Hand-crank flashlights have long been available. So have hand-crank portable radios.
But unlike these predecessors, quite a few of the new projects focus on retaining energy that is a byproduct of casual human activities, such as walking, dancing or exercising. Scientists give the ignoble categorization of “parasitic generators”s. There are a number of researchers focused on recapturing the energy of crowds. It’s as if someone was watching the Super Bowl or a World Series game or a Bruce Springsteen concert and said…”wow! If we could just harness that energy!”
Enviu, a Dutch environmental NGO, is constructing a dance club in Rotterdam that will have a dance floor that recycles vibrations from all those feet into electricity. One potential blueprint for the dacne floor makes use of piezoelectric crystals, which generate a small electric impulse when compressed. But Enviu's 400 square foot floor willcost them $260,000 and will generate only enough current to power some lights embedded in it. So this could be considered more of an attraction than a solution.
A design firm in London has been in the process of developing materials for flooring that might eventually serve to harvest energy from hordes of people traversing busy subway tunnels. In one plan, each step on the floor would push fluid through a microturbine, generating electricity.

Allow me to take a moment to direct some attention back towards my main activity in the midst of these happy musings about Fred Flinstone’s alternative energy solutions.
WATER4GAS is sharing information at a low price which folks can use at home to create a small gizmo which instills hydrogen into the gasoline/air mixture that their automobile runs on.
What this does is make bite sized particles out of the ones that the system burns as fuel. So the engine gets to use a lot more of the fuel.
With WATER4GAS you can reasonably expect to reduce your gas consumption by 12%. In reality though many are getting 30-50% improvement or significantly more. Those particles "musta" been pretty "blankin'" big in some systems before. But with WATER4GAS they are made usable so you can reduce your gas consumption.
It also helps make emissions significantly cleaner.
This information has been purchased by over NINE THOUSAND car owners already and the percentage of happy customers is about 99%! So that's a start!
