If you thought Sonic goes about saving the world (his world, at any rate) all by himself, you thought wrong my friend. This supersonic, all blue, Hedgehog has a lot of help coming his away from his host of friends. He has made friends in all different places and even in different dimensions. He is often pitted against one character by the evil plans of Dr. Egghead but still Sonic remains friendly terms with him. With so many friends around him, it is hard to imagine how Sonic would've saved the day without his multitude of friends. Tails, the golden-yellow fox with two tails is the first amongst those whom Sonic can count as friends. More than just a friend, Tails is Sonic's best pal who often helps Sonic out of tight spots. Tails uses he uses his two tails to fly up in the air like a helicopter but it is not a continuous flight. He can only last for a short duration in flight. So he often helps out Sonic by airlifting him out of the danger zone. Tails has been known to be good at mechanical things and almost as good as Dr. Eggman in certain cases. He is very admiring of Sonic and looks up to him as a true blue hero. Next comes Amy Rose Hedgehog, a pink hedgehog who loves to see Sonic as her boyfriend. Yes, our speeding, blue hero has a female admirer and the admirer is often the Damsel in distress whom Sonic ultimately goes to rescue. Egghead, like any other super villain, loves to have hostages that will surely lure our Hero into his evil lair. Amy makes for the perfect hostage in that regard who does not put up much of a fight. Sonic of course goes to rescue her and this in aggravates Amy's crush on Sonic. Although a soft character, Amy has recently been developing an aggressive side and hence she might not be as easy to capture as before. Knuckles, the last surviving member of the lost race of Echidna is a character with whom Sonic often has to fight. The fights take place mainly because Egghead deceives Knuckles and Sonic in to becoming opponents. However, they usually share a healthy rivalry and do not go at each other's throat for any reason. Knuckles gets him name from the knuckles or spikes that are on his hands, two on each hand. Together, Sonic and Knuckles are a formidable team and they have often worked together to save their world. Blaze the cat is a being from another dimension, which is in constant flux with Sonic's dimension. The flux creates tears in the very fabric of time that allow for easy passage between the two dimensions. Blaze is fast but not as fast as Sonic and instead depends on her abilities as a pyrokinetic (fire manipulator) to get things done. There's also Cream the rabbit, who is more of a kid character who loves adventure and ice-cream but is also inexperienced and immature.
