Tank Johnson – Tank Johnson got arrested a number of times, which led to his being waived by the Chicago Bears and being suspended for half a season. His first arrest was at a nightclub and he was charged with possession of a handgun. Tank was then charged for aggravated assault after a dustup with a police office outside of a – you guessed it – nightclub. Authorities arrested Tank for the possession of unlicensed firearms, which included assault rifles. Just because your nickname happens to be Tank, that does not mean you should arm yourself as if you really are a tank! Johnson was released by the Bears when he received a speeding ticket while being mildly impaired. The Cowboys picked him up following his suspension. 4. Cedric Benson – The second Bears player on the list, Benson was arrested twice in 2008 which led to his immediate release from the Chicago Bears. He was a first round draft pick in the NFL as a running back and is now unemployed. His first arrest was for going boating while under the influence, so how will he clean up his act now? He gets a DUI by driving his car while intoxicated. His teammate with the Bears has gone on the commit more crimes, but with talent, he should have no trouble finding employment. Sadly, a skilled NFL player will be able to earn money no matter what charges they might face. 3. Chris Henry – Chris Henry made his home in the arrest books. Previously a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, he had five run-ins with the law in less than three years, including DUI, drug possession, and gun related charges. He was first suspended for two games and then missed half of the 2007 season before being cut by the Bengals following yet another legal incident. Chris Henry always finds the crime and has a knack for getting caught. He has proved far more adept at eluding defensive players than he is at being taken down by policemen during the last 3 years. 2. Pacman Jones - He would top the list but he is still under contract with an NFL team so he will be allowed to play again. Pacman got into one problem after another, one of which was a deadly shooting in a nightclub. He apparently read the wrong etiquette book before meeting with Roger Goodell, the NFL comissioner, to demonstrate his reformed character: he was late for the meeting due to his visit to a local strip club, a venue he was not supposed to frequent. But as we can see from this list, talent trumps trouble, and if you’re a good enough player, you’ll get another chance. Furthermore, who do you assume made the choice to give Pacman (now just Adam) one more try? Michael Irvin, the oft-troubled hall of famer, helped the Dallas Cowboys 1. Michael Vick – Yes, we all knew it was coming, Michael Vick has to be ranked as the dumbest NFL player of recent years. This is because although he was involved in less legal incidents than others on this list, he is the only one serving a multiple year jail sentence. In this case, Michael Vick, being a superstar in the NFL, had the greatest amount on the line, and unfortunatley he lost everything that was put on the table. He suffered extreme public backlash following his dog fighting arrest, completely tarnishing his image. His NFL career was ruined, costing him millions; and, he ended up having to serve a lengthy jail sentence. Michael Vick: heartiest congratulations on making it to number one.
