While looking for an replacement to my TimeWarner home telephone service, I ran across TeleBlend. They provide a broadband phone service which essentially means that if you have a high speed Internet connection, the TeleBlend service will work. They have a very simple pricing model where phone service only costs $15.95 per month or $99 per year. The plan included all local and long distance calls in the US and calls to Canada as well. Usually my long distance bill alone with my current provider is higher than $20 per month and that is in addition to the over $40 for the regular phone service. The $15.95 per month plan with TeleBlend provides a $5 International credit every month and since I call Australia quite often, it is essentially like paying $10.95 per month for phone service. With the $15.95 plan there are no contracts or cancellation fees so I figured I would try it out. While doing my research I could not find a whole lot of phone service providers that offered the no contract option like TeleBlend did. That was refreshing since I wanted to try it out first. I signed up for their service right on the web site, which was a simple process, and opted in to be assigned a new number. I wanted to try it out first before porting my number from my current provider. I got my Welcome Kit in 3 days and setup was very simple where I just needed to connect the Gizmo they provided for free to my wireless router. The instruction manual that came with the kit was very easy to understand. That was it. They do have an long list of features such as call blocking, forwarding, voice mail to email, and so much more. More than I would ever use, that is for sure. I was quite elated with my TeleBlend service and decided to cancel the dreaded current company and port my number to TeleBlend. I contacted support and they provided some accurate instructions on doing so and within 2 weeks I was receiving calls on my new TeleBlend phone. Saved a ton of money over my current provider. So if you have a broadband Internet connection at your house, you should ask yourself why you are paying outrageous prices to have phone service. The TeleBlend $15.95 plan gives you the ability to make free international phone calls, while their $99 per year plan allows the domestic caller to save even more. At around the price for lunch, you can have phone service with unlimited calls to the US and Canada for 1 month. That is truly amazing.
