Psychotherapeutic drug rehab

Drug rehabilitation, better known as drug rehab is a term used for the processes of medical or psychotherapeutic treatment, for dependency on alcohol, prescription drugs or drugs like heroin or cocaine, amphetamines. The main purpose of a Drug Rehab is to enable the individual to stop using the drugs and to help him or her lead a normal life. Now-a-days there are many rehab facilities that have helped individuals suffering with drug addiction find rehabilitation for their addictions and live happily with there families and friends. There are many methods in which a Drug Rehab helps an individual find rehabilitation for their addictions. The traditional method in any Drug Rehab treatment is primarily counselling. However, more recent discoveries have shown that those who suffer from any kind of addiction often have chemical imbalances in their body which makes the recovery process of that particular individual or patient more complicated. And since there are chemical imbalances there are medicated treatment alongside the counselling. The counsellors help the patients or individuals identify their behaviour and problem related to their addiction.
The treatment in the Drug Rehab can either be done on an individual basis or in a group setting. However, it is usually more common to find the treatment happening in a group setting and it would include crisis counselling, weekly or daily counselling and drop-in counselling supports. The counsellors are trained to develop recovery programs which would help re-establish healthy behaviours and provide coping strategies to the patient or individuals whenever a situation arises. The counsellors are requires to be able to understand and recognize how a particular addiction affects the person and those around him or her.
Drug Rehab nowadays also incorporates traditional Indian elements such as Yoga and meditation. Yoga and meditation help the patient or individual take control of his or her life and to get in touch with their inner self. In the beginning sessions the patients are counselled, also related to "Intervention" treatment. In this intervention process, one of the counselling professional would first break down the "Denial" of the person with the addiction. The word "Denial" implies lack of willingness from the patients or individuals to confront the true nature of the addiction and to take any action to improve their lives.
