What are political forums? It is usually a subscription site established to talk about different events, different opinions and breaking news in the field of national politics. The better forums are those which have no political bias i.e. they are not pro Democrat or Republican but are established with the intention of encouraging open and honest debate with members holding different viewpoints. The owner and moderators on the internet site should encourage exchange of views as this will make the internet site more popular and therefore will attract more visitors and resulting members. But they should also moderate the political forums correctly. While arguments are frequent when anybody talks about national politics, it shouldn't be a justification for one member to abuse another. The moderator's role in a political discussion board is to prevent the discussion descending into personal assaults. As well they do not wish to cut off an interesting discussion. It is not an easy job but most people can differentiate between someone who is expressing a point of view and those that are merely trying to be disruptive. There is a reason why you probably shouldn't talk about sex, religion or politics at a get together. People tend to hold really strong views on the topic. Some people educate themselves about the various matters and come to political forums to talk about these arguments. They are ready to listen to what the other individuals consider and will sometimes be convinced by the debate to change their views on that particular matter. But you even have those people who have followed a particular party because that is what their family members always voted. They might not completely understand exactly why they are a Democrat or a Republican but they will oppose the policies of the relevant party to the last. These people tend to start quoting the Constitutional right to freedom of speech when you try to argue the point. Sometimes it is useless trying to get into a discussion with them and the best thing is to walk away and find political forums populated with individuals who are more broad minded.
