Being online signifies that you can be anonymous and this may give rise to individuals venting extreme views. They might not get the opportunity to discuss these views in real life so choose to use the forums. Even if the individual's opinions are not extreme, the debate could quickly lead to a quarrel as text is so often misinterpreted.
