Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR is use during emergency situation like respiratory and cardiac arrest. This medical procedure includes massaging the chest muscles and performing artificial respiration. This is a very important and sensitive procedure that is why you need to have proper knowledge and certification, if possible, to perform CPR. Medical practitioners and professionals are required to have CPR certificates; nowadays even professionals that do not have medically-related jobs are required to have it.

Actual CPR certification and recertification requires one whole day for training, discussion and examination. But through the power of internet, you can now get online CPR recertification. There are many agencies that offers online courses and recertification that is why you should research and look for the right agency that can provide all your needs. What to look for? First, make sure that the agency you choose has been accredited and is using the latest guidelines for certification and recertification. Know what are the courses they offering; agencies usually have course preview so use it. If you have think their course is exactly what you need, read trough important details and know if they offer 2-year CPR recertification. And finally, make sure that your employer will accept the training and recertification agency you are eyeing. Ask for their approval before enrolling into the course to ensure that you won’t be wasting money and energy. After all you are getting online CPR recertification because your

employer required you to do so.

Different agencies offer different courses that cover different subjects. Some subjects that are discuss are adult/child/infant CPR, basic respiratory and circulatory system, AED, choking and basic first aid. Most agencies provide training videos, instruction manuals and mannequin that can response to the pressure you apply. And since the online CPR recertification allows you to run the training courses according to your own pace, you can replay and watch the videos until you acquire the required knowledge. And since there will be small quizzes after every videos, it will be easier for you to determine if you understand and learned from it. You can also print-out the manual so that you can bring it along and actually read it if you have time. You will decide how fast or how slow you will finish the course and get recertified. The training videos total playing time is three to five hours while the major examination last for thirty minutes. Therefore you can finish the whole recertification process within seven

to eight hours straight. If you failed you can go back and watch the videos and then retake the examination free of charge. If you passed, you can print your own CPR/AED certificate and identification card; or if you want it more professional looking you can asked them to print it our and deliver it to you for a small fee and this will take seven to ten days.

But be reminded that if you want to apply for online CPR recertification make sure that your initial CPR certificate is not yet lapsed or is not expired for more than three months. Or else you will be disqualified and will be forced to take hands-on certification instead.
