NFL players routinely turn up in the arrest wires for committing stupid crimes. Although these guys earnings run into millions of dollars, they can't live like normal, responsible citizens. It has humiliated some publicly and may have got them suspended for a short time. Some can't seem to keep their career or their contract because of their self-indulgent behavior. Here is a list of the top five NFL players who have exibited the stupidest behavior over the past two years. Although normal human behavior is not always present in the NFL, this listing will only show those players who have done illegal things away from the gridiron. 5. Tank Johnson – Tank Johnson got arrested a number of times, which led to his being waived by the Chicago Bears and being suspended for half a season. While at a nightclub, he experienced a run-in with the law and was placed under arrest. He was then charged with possession of a weapon, the weapon being a handgun. While outside of a nightclub, Tank had a dustup with a police officer and was charged for aggravated assault. Tank was then arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms, including assault rifles. Just because your nickname is Tank, doesn’t mean you have to arm yourself like you actually are one! The Bears finally had to let Johnson go after he recieved a speeding ticket while being slightly impaired. After his suspension, the Cowboys hired him. 4. Cederic Benson - He is the second Chicago Bear to be listed and the Bears released him right after his second arrest in 2008. He was a first round draft pick in the NFL as a running back and is now unemployed. The first arrest was for boating while intoxicated, so how does he clean up his act? He gets a DUI by driving his car while intoxicated. Though his teammates on the Bears had more criminal activity he will be the one to find a new job. However, to the NFL, it doesn't matter what kind of charges you rack up, as long as you have the talent on the field. 3. Chris Henry – Chris Henry made his home in the arrest books. The former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver was arrested 5 times in a 2 and a half year period, including arrests for DUI, gun charges and marijuana possession. He was first suspended for two games and then missed half of the 2007 season before being cut by the Bengals following yet another legal incident. Chris Henry seems to have some sort of magnetic attraction to crime, and being caught for it. He has proved far more adept at eluding defensive players than he is at being taken down by policemen during the last 3 years. 2. Pacman Jones – Pacman would be the highest on the list but as it currently stands, he has an NFL contract and can resume his career. Pacman got into one problem after another, one of which was a deadly shooting in a nightclub. He failed to demonstrate his reformation when he spent too much time at a strip club (the type of place he was to avoid) and arrived late for a meeting with Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner. NFL history has proven that, no matter how troubled an athlete is, if he has enough talent, he will continue to get more chances throughout the league. Furthermore, who do you assume made the choice to give Pacman (Only Adam) one more try? Micheal Irvin whose a former superstar for the Dallas Cowboys troubled and in part of the counsel. 1. Michael Vick - Any one who follows NFL would know that Michael Vick would be chosen as the stupidest NFL player. This is because he is the only one in jail for more than a year, even though he had fewer legal incidents than the others. In addition, since he was Michael Vick, franchise player and superstar, he stood to lose the most, and he lost all of it. He suffered extreme public backlash following his dog fighting arrest, completely tarnishing his image. His NFL career was ruined, costing him millions; and, he ended up having to serve a lengthy jail sentence. Michael Vick: heartiest congratulations on making it to number one.
