Nett Solutions: Is it worth the price?

By: Charles J. Read

Nett Solutions will blind email you asking if you want more people coming to your web site. They use an individual name on the email not the company name. If you answer in the affirmative they will have someone call you. In my case it was Mike Burke.

Mike was a very persuasive salesperson. I am usually immune to such schemes but I got sucked into this one. Nett Solutions will arrange to put you in the top three sponsored solutions on Google for certain key phrases and geographic locations. They promise to drive lots of targeted business to your site. It sounds really good.

We have implemented a lot of SEO/SEM techniques and continue to do so. We update the web site on a regular and continuing basis. We are involved in building links all the time. This article will build additional links, we have written many others. We think we know what we are doing but we were always open to new ideas.

Nett Solutions make no promises on how many clicks you will get or how much product will be sold. We think our web site sells well so we were just looking for targeted traffic. Nett Solutions built the advertisement and selected the key phrase. They only put these up only on Google. I thought the advertisement should work and of course being the experts they said it would too.

Our fee was $100.00 setup and $595.00 a month. At first we got all most no click through what so ever. After complaining to the Nett Solutions the company they said they expanded the key phrases and the geographic area. We still got next to no click thru. We complained again. Geoff, the boss, said they were perplexed that it normally worked just fine. He could not understand why it was not working for us. He said he would set up more phrases and a bigger geographic area.

The last two weeks have yielded less than three clicks per day. The average is 80 per month for the last two weeks with all the expansion of phrases and area. That is $7.44 per click. I can buy clicks for less than that all day every day from any of the search engine/advertising companies.

Nett Solutions has not offered to return my money. They keep promising to make me happy and have not. They asked me to pull my complaint to the Better Business Bureau I made when they wouldn't return phone calls and I did. Of course when you call them they normally don't answer the phone; they have answered the phone exactly once when I have called them. They seem to respond only to email.

Don't misunderstand my position on pay per click. For some companies in some industries it may be very profitable. For others it may be a waste of time. Before you spend a large amount on pay per click, look up and read some articles on it. Try it on a limited basis. Test your ads and see what your click through rate is and what your close rate on those purchased clicks is. Remember clicks are fine, it is a sale that generates money. You will learn from the articles how to do an ROI.

Our ROI on using Nett Solutions was terrible. Nett Solutions was a waste of time, energy and money as far as our business is concerned.
