You want and need financial freedom soon! But when you are tense, you can’t think as well, make mistakes, and it’s harder to achieve. How do you not get worried or angry at being stuck, not getting what you want or making mistakes? Most important, realize how that your attitude itself is preventing you from getting what you want. When you are tense, you constrict not just your muscles but your perspective, and the range of solutions narrows. The Secret says you get what you attract, so you’ll get more of the unwanted stuff you just got. Realize that getting your mood/vibration up is necessary to getting what you want. However, in the beginning, it can be hard to recognize your own emotional state, much less change it. When the stress hormones have control of your body, it helps to deal with them on their field, the physical. As soon as you can, remember three principles. Learn to recognize tension. Just feeling bad usually indicates tension. Sometimes people are so tense they can’t feel it at all, and only when they begin to relax later to they feel the pain. Stress hormones meant to help us deal with life and death situations and still act do this. But these hormones were not designed to be on frequent or constant duty. When consistently elevated, they cause all sorts of physical problems ranging from hypertension to digestive problems and much more. Progressive relaxation techniques teach you to tense and relax every part of your body, starting from your toes up to your forehead. Although time consuming, they are great for helping recognize tension and relaxation. Start to recognize where in your body you react with tension. The neck, throat, shoulders , chest and stomach are common. Become aware of your pattern and check in frequently. Make checking the time a reminder to check yourself. This will remind you to release the tension using the techniques listed below. Of course, if you don’t deal with the underlying belief or fear, it will come back, but we’ll cover that in the article about transformation. Relax with one or more of the following: 1. Breathe in gratefully. Most of us don’t recognize the shallow breathing we do most of the time that is associated with tension. Take some deep, but comfortable breaths, the way you would if you were feeling relieved or appreciating beautiful scenery. The in breath needs to be gentle as well as deep. I think of “oooh” and “aaaah” and the breath alone often brings a feeling of happiness. In the beginning, you may need to do this 6-10 times, later as you associate your visualization or sound with the breath and relaxation, it will be quicker. 2. Expand into relaxation Lift and relax your shoulders and imagine yourself expanding in all directions. You are getting bigger than your problem, stress or fear. It’s there, but it’s a relatively small part of you. Don’t focus on it. Focus on feeling big enough that everything feels small in comparison. 3. Posture Have you noticed how tension affects your posture? Think of people who feel ashamed, guilty, depressed or other emotions low on the vibration scale. Imagine how they look—concave, slumped, contracted. You can pretty much assess the utility of an emotion by what it does to your body. Think about what a happy child looks like: chest expanded Habitual patterns of thinking/feeling will show up in habitual movement patterns. Improve your posture by imagining a gold cord from the top of your head gently lifting your whole body. Another way to understand good posture is to stand, arms at sides and slowly raise them out to the side, palms up until the palms meet over your head. Then slowly lower. Your stance should be comfortable, not military rigid.
