Williamsburg has more to offer than just Busch Gardens and Water Country USA as most people do not find out until their vacation is over. You can find many other interests within a short driving distance of Williamsburg like Yorktown and James Town. After October Busch Gardens basically closes down for the year so you should be aware of all the other attractions that are available in close proximity. Most people are not aware that we have many golf courses in the area. If you are one of those, you have missed a golden opportunity to enjoy the perfect day on one of Colonial Williamsburg’s world class golf courses. If you are a timeshare owner or staying at a timeshare resort or hotel make sure you mention that as they give you a partner rate when you call to reserve your tee time. Many people who come to Williamsburg also do not go to Colonial Williamsburg and are not aware that the pass you get are for 2 consecutive days not just one. Which is really great as there is a lot of walking and really to much to see in just one day of rushing through it . Another benefit is the bus will pick you up at the resort so you do not have to drive or worry about parking. The bus takes you to the visitor center where you get to watch a short educational presentation of the town before taking you to Colonial Williamsburg. The tickets are $49.00 per person, and if you are staying at a resort many offer you 2 tickets for doing an owners update. You could also visit Smithfield Isle of Wight that offers historic attractions, recreation, dinning, shopping and lodging. Don’t worry about bring your fishing equipment unless you really like using your own. Ocean Eagle offers you fully equipped fishing trips for only $ 35.00 for 5 hour excursions. They have two charter times which are 6:30 am for the early risers and for those who like to sleep in they have a 12:30 departure time. Fish that may be caught are Flounder, Croaker, Spot, Trout and Bluefish fishing trips are available 7 days a week. If you like to be scared we offer ghost tours in Colonial Williamsburg in the evenings when it is the darkest. Williamsburg also offers the Haunted Dinner Theater with special effects, mystery, music and magic! They will welcome you to the haunted dinner theater, which combines Williamsburg’s most creative interactive performances with a 71 item all you can eat buffet dinner at Captain George’s Restaurant. A perfect evening for families with children of all ages, student groups, senior citizen groups and the military. Some other places to mention that are great for the entire family is the Yankee Candle which is more than just a candle shop, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not that also offers a four dimensional move staring Sponge Bob and others. Go Cart Plus which is a mini amusement park and last but not least are several mini golf courses. What about shopping? When you get to Williamsburg everyone will be heading out to the prime outlets as it is the largest mall in town. You can also go to the pottery but you need to hurry as they will be constructing a new mall there shortly. These are only a few fun things to do while in the Williamsburg area but the most important one is to slow down and relax because you are on vacation.
