The rift between two of the UK's most famed golfers seems to have died down, as Colin Montgomery shoots down rumours of any rift between himself and Sir Nick Faldo. Sir Nick Faldo was Europe's most recent Ryder cup captain, subsequently his replacement was Colin Montgomery at the 2010 tournament. Faldo announced that he wrote to Montgomery to offer pointers but had not heard anything back from him. According to Montgomery he will seek advice from Sir Nick Faldo before the Ryder Cup gets underway on the 1st October 2010. No matter what Montgomery has said something seems to not be right between the pair, because Sir Nick Faldo and Montgomery failed to speak with one another after competing in the same golf competition in Munich this week. Sir Nick Faldo has a great amount of knowledge with regards to the Ryder Cup after playing in 11 Ryder Cup competitions, as well as holding the record for the highest amount of points scored in Ryder Cup history a record of 25 points . This 'feud' has reportedly been going on for years, with the breaking being Sir Nick Faldo's recent choice not to select Montgomery as one of his Ryder Cup wild card players last year in Valhalla. Montgomery then said that he would have done things "a lot differently" if he was the captain in 2008. Europe went on to lose their final encounter with the USA at Valhalla, which brought an end to their successive run of three years without losing. Montgomery has made it no secret that he has contacted other former European Ryder cup captains for help already which includes Bernhard Langer, who was the victorious Ryder captain back in 2004. However, he has not shut the door on any advice from Sir Nick Faldo stating that "You learn from everybody and from every experience in life. I will not leave any stone unturned. I have not and I will not." The 38th Ryder Cup of 2010 is three days long , this time around it will be played in Wales on a new course nicknamed the 'Twenty-Ten Course'. The competition is contested one time every two years and tops the list of to-do's for many golfers . The tournament is truly an event that all potential qualifiers aim to qualify into. All tournaments with the exception of two have been held in the UK or America. The cup itself holds different match play situations between players chosen from the best in both America and Europe . The winner of each match gets one point, ½ points are awarded to tie games , the team with the most points at the end of day three is the winner .
