Solar power is one of the most freely available energy resources on earth. Electricity generated using this power is eco friendly as it does not emit any harmful gases. Generally sunlight is converted into electricity using either photovoltaic or concentrated solar power. Commercial solar power also referred to as CSP was developed for the first time in the year 1980 by installing the largest power plant in California. This is perhaps the largest plants ever to be installed across the globe. Solar power as we all call it is an intermitted source of energy and hence in most cases is supplemented by other forms of energy. Besides being a free source of energy, there are numerous other benefits associated with using solar energy.
