Many folks in the Network Marketing place their hopes on MLM genealogy lists all too often, only to find that they have completely wasted their money! They are excited and pumped to start recruiting all those people into their business, but once they start calling them they quickly realise they are getting nowhere fast. No-one is interested and a lot of the information is outdated anyway! What is an mlm genealogy list you may be asking A genealogy list is a printout of the complete downline of an mlm company, it shows everything from team structure to earnings. Worryingly some MLM companies that don't make it and die a financial death will actually put up their entire organizational list up for sale, usually at auction. Obviously this list could get into the hands of almost anyone, legitimate or otherwise. Once the list has been bought, anything could happen to the information, most likely the buyers will do their own marketing to the list prior to selling the information on to other interested parties, whether this be other network marketers or information 'agents'. Just Google the term 'MLM genealogy lists' and you will find plenty of people ready to sell you their lists! Something that many people fail to realise is that these list are effectively breaking the law, there are data protection rules to consider, when joining an MLM company you will sign a data protection declaration. Of course no one would have signed any agreement to allow their private details to be sold across the internet to anyone who chooses to buy it. Are you looking to build an honest, legitimate business with integrity? If so you should probably steer well clear of using such lists. Once you finally get to calling you're so call 'lead' they won't have a clue who you are anyway, obviously they won't have ever asked for information from you personally, so there is no pre-branding whatsoever, also bear in mind that they are probably from a network marketing deal that went under, so chances are that may not be interested in jumping on another deal anyway. Add the fact that by contacting them you are in effect breaking the law, which in itself can carry heavy penalties if you were to get caught. Needless to say this is not what you would call a highly targeted, qualified prospect! The reasons already discussed should be enough to make anyone realise that genealogy lists are not the way to go, but think for a moment of the telephone prospecting you would have to do. You are looking at 8 hours a day at least of what will essentially be 'cold' calling. It's the only way you'd be able to prospect these people, unless you invest in an expensive direct mail campaign. It's also important to remember that it takes a fair bit of skill and patience to close leads on the phone, warm leads can be tough, just imagine what it would be like with angry, frustrated leads that have been contacted and spammed over and over again! After all there isn't really any need to waste time with these genealogy lists, there are many different ways to generate leads for your business, especially online. I recently did a training video about how to generate mlm leads for free. You are far better off bringing in your own leads that have actually requested information from you.
