Legend Of Zelda Spirit Tracks

By: Lexie Peterson

The game play is interesting and makes complete use of the stylus as you navigate the world of Hyrule via your very own customizable train in an attempt to stop evil from destroying the world. The game is definitely not lacking in things to do as along with the main story there are many little side quests for Link to take up and they typically all involve transporting either people or cargo from one place to another. The stylus controls are tricky at first for those not quite used to it but once you are then the fighting and use of your items is almost second nature and Spirit Tracks really makes good use of the dual screen making the player actually pay attention to both screens when solving some puzzles or fighting the bosses in each dungeon. This is definitely a game for the Zelda fan and succeeds in many ways from the Phantom Hour glass game; Spirit Tracks is not a game that is meant for just anyone either as some of the dungeons and bosses actually require some quick thinking and even at times serious thought. If you don’t pay attention you are going to be starting over many times which can lead to some frustration especially near the end of the game when the designers decided they gave us a little bit too easy of a ride throughout that majority of the game. The actual length of the game is very short in comparison to the console versions but is no less fun or challenging and this is a game that should be on your wanted list for the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010. Over all the game is worth an 8.5/10 and hopefully for many this will help tide you over till Nintendo gets another Zelda game made for the Wii console.
