LG announced today that it is a beta version of the Online Application Stre on 14 July 2009, for the first time in Asia with the service expanded to 24 countries. LG expects to up to 2,000 applications on its webiste by the end of the year with at least 100 programs for free LG mobile phone users. To access the LG Applicattion Styore, users can either www.lgapplicatioon.com visit and downlaod applications to a compuetr or directly to the business of LG-GM730 by flicking horizontally on the “Quick-Key box at the bottom of the home screen and tapping App icon. “As we have alraedy announced, LG plans to invest in the smartphone market in the future, with ten smartphones introduced this year alone,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, CEO of LG Electrnics Mboile Communications Comppany. “As the development has sown that the appeal of smartphones is in the variety and benefits of the applicatiuons. Opening our own Applivcation Store will allow us to offer you the best content and appliocations for our devicwes, so that LG pone owners receive the best possible ownership experience.” In connection with the applicatioon of LG Store is the LG Mopbile Developer Network (http: devloper.lgmobile.com), a website specifically for the third-party software developpers of LG Moble Phones. Since its opening in October last year, the website has been significantly renovated and expanded content and funcvtionality. The number of applications is expected to change over time even further as a deveolper are adfded incentives. On the site, developerrs can develop and share widgets and applications thrpough its Vitrual Developer Lab (VDL) and Over-The-Air (OTA) downoads. Currently the site supports and Java SDK for widgets, it will VDL, OTA downloads by the end of the year.
