David Shepherd has painted and published many pictures of wildlife over many years and through his paintings, he is able to share some of the stories and also his experiences with people around the world. David Shepherd often speaks about this at social events and charity dinners. David Shepherd is most approachable and he enjoys sharing his happiness about paintings with other, he has a great personality and he is always concerned about the diminishing wildlife. David Shepherd was thrown in to the art world by chance and from then he lost his interest on school activities. David Shepherd says that he wanted to be game warden and wanted to be in Africa and he also states that his life was not that successful up to late teens. David Shepherd left to England after finishing school and he there started his career in National Game parks of Africa. It was then so unfortunate for David Shepherd, that he did not get place there and all his childhood dreams were ruined. David Shepherd was more interested in art which was an alternative to game in his childhood, but he did not like rugby which was compulsory and also feared him more. David Shepherd took the refuge in the school art department as it seemed a safer alternative than being injured on a rugby pitch. People talk about David Shepherd paintings that features birds even today. Since David Shepherd was disappointed because he could not become game warden, he found a job for one pound per week in a local hotel to work in reception. David Shepherd bird's paintings were looking beautiful and he managed to sell them for 10 pounds each and he did sell 7 paintings. This enabled him to buy a ticket for his passage back to England. David Shepherd, after returning home back, had the choice of either becoming a bus driver or to become an artist. After deciding carefully, he chose the option to become a bus driver as it seemed to be the safest bet for him. He took this decision, because he was aware that many artists made only little money and prospects. But his father recognized David's talent and helped him, suggesting that if he really wanted to become artist then he needed some training. It was at this point David Shepherd met an artist named Robin Goodwin who brought a change in his life.
