Is Your Pet Bird Sick - Learn To Understand The Evidence

For people with a family, it is a proven fact that having a pet is often very good for the kids and also you. And pet birds tend to be amongst a number of the most well liked pets which you can have. If yours is a family that has a lot of responsibilities and not a lot of time to devote to a pet such as the amount that it takes for a dog or a cat, then having a bird is perfect, because as long as you do just a few things for them they are fine.

Like any other pet though there is a possibility that your bird can become sick, and since you probably won't spend near enough time with it to know it, it may be difficult to be aware of changes to it which would indicate sickness,. Luckily, there are a few things that you can do to make sure you are paying good attention to your pet bird, and to make sure that you notice when they are sick.

If you are familiar with the song that your bird sings, then you will know without a doubt when the bird is not feeling well. Singing is the way that birds communicate with the outside world. Depending on the time of the day and how the bird is feeling it will make different sounds accordingly as you will see by paying attention to it.

It will probably have one song that it has in the morning, and one in the evening. Also, your bird might make noises when it sees you, or sees other members of the family.
There will be different sounds for all of their activities in the cage as well like changing the food and water.

As a responsible pet owner, you should be aware of these noises. By becoming aware of these sounds, you'll know if the bird is feeling diverse by it's various reactions.

If your bird stops making the noises that they have always made, or makes new noises you have never heard before, they might be sick.
Like sounds, your bird will develop movements that you should be able to recognize. You will be able to notice changes in the birds activities in both the day and night hours as well as know by the bird patterns where it most likes to perch and hang out.

If you see that your bird isn't moving as much as it usually does, or is sitting on the floor of the cage instead of on its perch, it might be sick, and you should pay some attention to it. Your bird could also be sick if it starts acting frantic and overactive and keeps trying to get out of the cage. If this is the case something needs to be done for it. Talk to your vet immediately.
