How to make cheese

Cheese is one of the most delicious and even the most important and key ingredient in many delicacies of the world. It’s easily available but still knowing how to make cheese and making it by you and having the same is one different story.


The ingredients for making cheese is as follows starting with thermometer, cheese cloths, 4-5 tsp of table salt, two steel vessels, 1.5 fl oz of diluted rennet and 5 oz of moderately cold water, colander, 1.5-2 gallons of whole milk, spices and herbs for the taste as per the wish, cheese wax, cloth for filtering out the final cheese from the residue water, 3 fl. Oz of buttermilk.


The process of making cheese is not difficult but it’s lengthy and slow. Firstly its needed to pour the milk in steel vessel and heat it till its temperature reaches around 80 F, secondly it is stirred with diluted rennet solution and approx 2.5 fl. Oz of buttermilk and then again stirred carefully for sometime and then covered tightly. Thirdly it’s allowed to cool for next 12 hours and till then texture is completely changed and then we line up another vessel with cloth and pour the cheese mixture over that cloth through which the residue liquid will pass by and final leftover will be thick cheese which can be mixed with spices and herbs for taste. Similarly the hard cheese and even many other kinds of cheese are made with few alterations though basic concept remains the same.
