How to Live With Allergy Reactions

By: Allergic Reactions

Allergy reactions are the bodies response to a trigger of an allergy. Allergy reactions can range from very mild to quite sever and in some cases allergy reactions can be life threatening. So now that you have been diagnosed with allergies, how do you go about trying to live a normal life and avoid the unpleasant and possible dangerous allergy reactions that you could experience by being exposed to your allergy triggers? You must use common sense, planning and care in the management of your allergies so that you can avoid allergic reactions.

Allergy reactions can be triggered by a wide variety of items both food based and environmental. These allergy reactions are easily controlled with the use of antihistamines which block the bodies reaction to the triggers. Frequently the blocking of the allergy reactions can be sufficient that the sufferer can lead a normal life even in the daily presence of the trigger. In the case of food allergic reactions it is not usually possible for the person to be able to enjoy the trigger foods at all. Its is especially important that food allergies be managed very carefully as these allergy reactions can be extremely sever even to the point of being fatal. These allergy reactions, once triggered can be swift in their attack and can lead to a medical emergency almost instantly.

Some of the most common allergic reactions to food can be associated with, peanuts, strawberries, eggs, MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate) and shellfish. Most of these allergy reactions can be life threatening and extreme care should be taken to make sure that you do not encounter these trigger foods. Of course this can be very difficult when you are eating out, but be researching the restaurants that you want to eat at, and when you start to make your lunch or dinner selections do not be afraid to mention your allergy reactions and trigger foods to the server. Ask to speak to the kitchen manager or the chef to ensure that you are not going to be exposed to any of the items which you are sensitive to. This may seem like a lot trouble to have to go through. Nevertheless it is vital that you control your allergy reactions. The inconvenience of having to speak with the chef is nothing compared to the inconvenience of being dead.

Environmental allergy reactions are easier to control than food allergy reactions. Environmental allergy reactions are usually able to be controlled with the use of a daily maintenance medication. These allergy reactions can be triggered by exposure to things such as pet dander, pollen and dust. There are many over the counter medications that can be used to treat symptoms as allergy reactions of this type are most often inconvenient and uncomfortable but not severe.

Allergy reactions can be easily controlled and prevented with mindful concern toward the triggers that you have. Just remember that these allergic reactions are able to not only make you uncomfortable but can sometimes make you dead. Protect yourself by managing you trigger exposure.
