Four Keys To Advertising Success In MLM Network Marketing

For years, one of the major obstacles to success in the MLM industry has been that most networkers have little advertising background.

Success in network marketing requires having a steady flow of good prospects reviewing your business daily. Except for the rare networker networker who has a large circle of influence and is willing to prospect within it, networkers have to rely on advertising to keep up the flow of quality prospects.

Trying to build a business without advertising skills not only limits the generation of daily prospects and its resulting business volume, it also eats up marketer's time, money, and emotions. It is very typical for a networker experiencing poor results to get discouraged and quit the business.

I have found that one of the most important parts of training we can offer our new business partners is effective marketing skills. Almost all networkers need to learn good copy writing. You can find many online sources of excellent copy writing training.

We teach our team four basic elements that are essential to good advertising. These apply whether it's a print ad for local marketing or an online marketing piece such as a landing or lead capture page. Use these as both a 4 step process to review any current marketing already in place and as a guideline for new advertising.

Attention. This is the big one because if the advertising does not capture the prospect's attention, everything is wasted. In all advertising and marketing, the attention-grabber is a strong headline. Improving your headlines will do more for your success than any other improvement.

Interest. Next in importance to the headline, you must build their interest. This is best done by outlining benefits. Benefits make ideal sub-headlines in your marketing piece. This is where you let the prospect know what's in it for him or her.

Desire. This builds on their interest and makes the prospect want what you've got. Get this step right and you can dramatically increase your number of sign ups.

Action. This is where you need to really take charge. Make it clear what they need to do. Tell them to fill out the form, or call your office right away, or sign up and get started, for example. I usually add some urgency to my action step by offering bonuses or discounts for immediate action.

Equally important to applying these 4 elements, all smart marketers are still constantly testing the results of one version of a marketing piece against another. That is how advertisers know exactly what works best.
