For the 13th time in a row, the Florida Gators took home a win. If that sounds like no small feat, consider also that it's the 15th game. Taking to the court against South Carolina on February 4, the Gators beat South Carolina 97-93 which also put an end to South Carolina's four-game winning streak. More than five players scored double digit numbers in the game, some even capturing a career high and others gaining their first career double digits in a game. Sounds like the win's just the thing to get the Gators geared up for the road in a few days. Tuesday February 10 the Gators will take on Kentucky in Lexington. Saturday February 14 the Gators will play against Georgia in Athens. Just four days later on Wednesday February 18, the Gators may put the snap on Alabama at home. After a brief rest, the Gators are back at it against Vanderbilt on Saturday February 21. Then it's back on the road again to take on LSU in Baton Rouge on Tuesday February 24. Tennessee better bring their A-game to the Sunday March 1 game in Gainesville. On Wednesday March 4 the Gators will be hosted by Mississippi State in Starkville. The SEC Tournament on Thursday March 12 wraps up another season for the Gators. Those who get caught in the Gator grip can expect the power snap from 2008-2009 team members that include sophomore Adam Allen (14) from Milton Florida, sophomore Nick Calathes (33) from Casselberry Florida, freshman Allan Chaney (24) from Baltimore Maryland, sophomore Hudson Fricke (40) from Greenville South Carolina, senior Walter Hodge (15) from Guaynabo Puerto Rico, freshman Kenny Kadji (30) from Pendleton in Douala Cameroon, junior Vernon Macklin (32) from Portsmouth Virginia, freshman Kyle McClanahan (4) from Maitland Florida, sophomore Chandler Parsons (25) from Casselberry Florida, freshman Ray Shipman (3) from Miramar Florida, sophomore Alex Tyus (23) from St. Louis Missouri, freshman Eloy Vargas (1) from Moca Dominican Republic, freshman Erving Walker (11) from Brooklyn New York and junior Dan Werner (21) from Middletown New Jersey. The Stephen C. O'Connell Center is home to the Gators for all of their men's basketball games. Named after former University of Florida President Stephen C. O'Connell (who presided from 1967 to 1973), the center is the premier college basketball arena in the entire state. Tickets to the first men's basketball game of the season have sold out for the eighth consecutive year in a row. The 2006-2007 season marks record attendance with 627,779 total for the 40 games held that season. Coaching and support staff for the Gators this season include head coach Billy Donovan, associated head coach Larry Shyatt, assistant coach Shaka Smart, assistant Rob Lanier, assistant to the head coach Darren Hertz, video coordinator Adam Beaupre, strength and conditioning coordinator Matt Herring, athletic trainer Dave Werner, academic counselor Tom Williams and basketball SID Fred Demarest. With Donovan at the head, the Gators may just take the ball and run all the way to the top with it.
