Find a Proxy for Facebook

By: Roberto Garabell

Finding a proxy does not require the download and installation of any application especially if you want to access sites like Facebook. Such sites are blocked by school or office network administrators. To find proxies for Facebook, you just need to search the Web for one via Internet search engines such as Google or Yahoo!. You can see many websites offering proxies possibly used with Facebook.

When you have found and chosen a Web proxy, browsing Facebook would be easier and more convenient. All you need to do is to type in the Facebook’s URL (www.facebook.com) on the main page.

After doing so, all traffic and connections coming from and going to the Facebook website are redirected through the proxy. Because of this, it seems like the traffic is coming from the proxy server. This provides a way around the filtering systems configured by school or office network administrators to block Facebook.

These proxies will allow you to access Facebook without revealing pieces of information about your computer, your Internet connection, and yourself. Proxies enable you to access Facebook easily. It also allows you and other users to chat, share music, and videos through the site.

Through the proxy servers, you can view Facebook profiles and blogs, surf the website for music, and post different comments for other users.

When proxy servers are used, the computer allows you to connect to the websites you want to visit through the proxy. This disables site access restrictions since the OS of your computer will think you’re connected to the proxy and not Facebook.

The proxy server may be transparent or anonymous. This means anonymous proxies can provide different IP addresses and machine details among other information to users visiting sites through the anonymous proxy. This prevents the computer from being traced or tracked down.

You may be required to use the proxy’s IP address to replace the domain name. You can recover the IP address by pinging the URL from the Command prompt.

Proxy servers enable users to browse through the Internet with a higher level of anonymity, confidentiality, and security. This happens because when a proxy server is used to access a website like Facebook, different types of information like your location, Operating System, IP address, and browser type are removed.
