I love it and always will. Twelve miles of white sandy beaches bordering the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. One can't possibly understand the beauty that lies in Hilton Head, South Carolina. With 24 courses on the island alone and 40 in the surrounding area, you can be sure you'll never be bored hitting the ball. All courses run through both thick pines, gorgeous beach overlooks and beach skylines. The golf courses are part of the beauty in themselves, hosting the Celebrity Golf tournament along witha few other high-profile events. Over 300 clay and grass tennis courts, with many being professional also make Hilton Head Island a hotbed for tennis enthusiasts. Food is unimaginable on the island. Restaurants range from endless seafood buffets all the way to Greek diners. The variety makes it hard to choose a favorite. Hilton Head Island nights out on such a small area has a urban feel combined with small town warmth. My personal favorite is Big Bamboo Cafe, but any of the local watering holes will entertain. Visitors always feel at home in the bars. And if your night out doesn't involve alcohol, a nice walk on the beach guided by the yellow of the moon and the crests of the sea can be just as invigorating. A bike ride across the island will give you the best tour you can have on Hilton Head. Under the pines and palm trees, you will embark in the abundant shopping, robust beaches, exuberant people, and wonderfully designed resorts. It can even be the best setting for a shore wedding and definitely a great destination for the little ones. You can't move through the island and not run into a bike path. With too many things to do and too many things to see during a stay, you will just have to come back again and again. Over 2.7 million people to the island between May and September must know what they're missing by not coming. Hilton Head, South Carolina is one memorable island to visit and an even better island to live.
