Breeding of pet birds isn't a sideline any more, it has grown into an industry worth million dollars. This industry has been largely profitable with the foreign birds. In the world of exotic birds, numerous breeds of birds like the African grey parrots, caiques, finches, macaws etc are the most wanted of all. The exotic birds are bred every year and sent to the other countries for merchandising. But unfortunately, when the birds are being transported they have to suffer through a exhausting shipping process and their survival becomes trembling and uncertain. With human voracity and atrocities, the freedom of these exotic birds is snatched away. The exotic birds don't have a long life span apart from few breeds and most of them dont even survive more than five years. Canaries, budgies, lovebirds and other type of small birds undergoes terrible pain and suffering while they are being shipped and even in the first year of their birth they die. Since the shipping of exotic birds is so bad only few birds are able to survive and are handed to the owners. Who is the culprit behind these ill-fated birds? The sufferings of the exotic birds are often due to ignorance of the sellers and the buyers, those who doesn't remain aware with screaming and biting of the birds which are the natural characteristics of the feathered vertebrates. The dealers and the consumers consider only the wildness and vicious nature of the foreign birds and thus they treat these birds with negligence. Few of such incidents about ill treatment of these poor birds include beating and battering, throwing them to basement prisons, and ignorance of even feeding them are shameful and pathetic. These kinds of incidents leads to internal injuries or broken bones of these poor creatures and thus their life span shortened. After landing in nearly a half dead condition, the exotic creatures have to undergo twinges other ill-treatment process even by the buyers or zoo authorities. In homes any ill-treatment on dogs and cats are often reported by the neighbors to the pet animal sections. However, in case of birds, the abuses are carried within the internal parameters of a house and unfortunately remain secret from any viewer. Exotic birds are delicate creatures and they desire a natural environment to keep themselves away from their violence and other destructive instincts. Always remember that exotic birds never like to be caged in a tiny cage and if they are kept in such places they suffer from psychological problems and even diseases like obsessive compulsive disorders. With small cages the foreign vertebrates also suffers from severe inhibition, insanity and with continued screaming. The exotic birds when adopted as pets can be a friend for life and is always a fun to be with them. They can be at times messy, too much demanding, and even damaging but once you will be able to identify their natural instincts, you both can sustain together peacefully. These foreign creatures needs nothing more than warmness and compassion from human beings and from both dealers and consumers as well.

Exotic bird trade is a very lucrative business, but the modus operandi of this business is very unprofessional, resulting in cruelty on these pretty birds.
