End Times Prophecy In Different Cultures

By: Jasper Writer

There is numerous talk in the media about the end times prophecy. Several individuals are under the impression that the end of the world is upon us. In fact there are various historical prophecies that are used to suggest the coming of the end of days, and these exist in practically every culture, from the ancient Mayans to modern day Christians.

When we take a look at the world around us, it is no surprise that such beliefs have become so widespread and prevalent. There are mega disasters, nuclear meltdowns, climate adjust, and wars developing in areas and countries that have been peaceful for a long time. If you are interested in this topic, and to be honest, global annihilation is a subject we all have a stake in, take a moment to check out the following information on lesser known end time prophecies from around the world.

The Yukon Territory covers a vast swathe of Canada. Long before modern man started to move into this region, the First Nation individuals developed their own spiritual and cultural belief system. The elders of this partially frozen land believe that the end time is now close as various signs have already been fulfilled.

According to these native peoples, the end of this world will begin with the return of the white brothers, these are the co-creators of our world who are responsible for our sun. According to one elder, Grey Eagle, messages will soon arrive that speak of an impending catastrophe before the onset of a new dawn.

If we travel down the North American continent, there is an end time prophecy spelled out by the Hopi Indians that is of note. They suggest that a blue star, who they refer to as Kachina, will give itself in the sky. At this time, the world will undergo a complete purification. It is suggested by the Hopi that only those who follow the sacred methods will be able to survive this period of change.

It is not purely in tribal and indigenous cultures, that end time prophecies exist, they are also give in countries that moved away from traditional beliefs a long time ago. One such model is in England. Five centuries ago there lived a self described female prophet who went by the name Mother Shipton. Her tale is one of premonition and tragedy, she was to foretell the coming of the end of the world, although for her outspokenness she was burnt at the stake.

Shipton suggested that in the future, a comet would appear in the sky that would cause huge global catastrophe, and make man shake in trepidation and fear. She predicted that vast lands will be immersed in the oceans, and nearly all of the world population will die a tragic death.

This is a topic that should not be discussed without mentioning the famous French seer and alchemist, Nostradamus. He wrote a number of cryptic verses, and also created various illustrations that predicted the end of the world. Nostradamus is still highly revered today, in part seeing as lots of of his other predictions have already come to pass.
