To be honest you will never find me watching television. I catch anything important like segments from the Daily Show and other things on the internet! But a few nights back a buddy gave me a call. They told me that they were watching TV on Saturday night (good lord get a life!!) and they were startled to see a commercial (wow! They even watch the commercials!!!) about renewable energy. They said that they were not believing it at first as they sat there on the couch staring at what they conceived was most likely the next big campaign for conservatism, and not an apparently educational 30-second bit. Then they told me that the greatest surprise of all, to them, was the last comment and that the sponsor of the commercial turned out to be… Chevron. Yes, one of the main culprits in fossil fuels is talking about alternative energy solutions! My friend was awfully excited. The stated mission of Chevron Energy Solutions is to “to assist clients to consume less energy and pay less for energy. So under the banner of this mission, the Chevron subsidiary does promotion for alternative energy. More precisely, they seek to promote energy efficient technologies in the public and corporate sphere. They accomplish this through the application of projects and research in areas besides fossil fuels. Solar electric and stationary fuel cell advancements are among these projects. AT LEAST THIS IS THE STORY THAT THEY TELL PEOPLE! “As a group of engineers, project manager, energy managers and system analysts, Chevron Energy Solutions synergizes the power and professionalism of the eco- friendly industries - all in its mission to promote alternative energy and technology. This Chevron underling seeks to not only conserve natural resources in the production of energy, but to lower pollutants as well. This is accomplished through the lowering in requirements for electricity that would typically be generated by fossil-fuel power plants.” ARE YOU BUYING INTO THIS? “Chevron Energy Solutions has also designed and marketed newer energy sources. These alternatives include fuel cells, as was stated before. They also encompass photovoltaics and advanced batteries. The company has also declared it is active in hydrogen fuel research and advancement efforts too. In fact, Chevron is pouring three hundred million dollars every year into alternative fuel sources”. GOTCHA!!! THE STORY STARTS TO UNRAVEL. I WILL EXPLAIN HOW AFTERWARDS… So what is the real story? Chevron is a big player in petroleum. And, as with any company of that size they are motivated completely by the “profit axiom”. Therefore, they have more than enough cash to put on a good facade and even construct a big infrastructure so as to provide the appearance of embracing the development of alternative energy. It all sounds quite plausible except for one little problem, ok, several… 1. Cars are equipped for more than fifteen years with computers. These computers are factually pre-hacked against getting the gas mileage that the vehicles would usually be able to attain! If the auto manufacturing and petroleum companies wanted people to get more bang for their buck at the filling station they would unhack their computers!! This is a majorly illegal action which violates contracts that these companies have with the Environmental Protection Agency and other regulatory agencies with regards to fair business practices. 2. A vehicle in 1908 performed 40% better than our fancy shiny cars of today. That is no accident either! 3. And here is one that Big Oil REALLY doesn’t want you to know about. The technology to operate cars with engines that use WATER for fuel has been around for 90 years! In the last couple of years it has become available to the average citizen via Water4Gas and their open source community in the area which has empowered many others to participate in moving the technology forward. So Chevron is raking in billions every year in profit, they sacrifice a few hundred million to “research” new energy sources, meanwhile, they continue to work with vehicle manufacturers to install artificial limitations on fuel economy and they ignore the fact that Brown’s Gas, Hydrogen from Water, Hydrogen On Demand and so forth are presently used in the car engines of thousands of drivers on the road right now AND they use the image that they are trying to find alternative technologies as a way to hide and a diversion so that people don’t find out that the technology already exists!!! So in the event that you thought that Chevron or any of the auto making companies or petroleum corporations were operating in the public interest, I hope I have just set you straight on that one. We need a revolution! And for the sake of the environment we had better start on it todayu. And the technology exists so we can be successful right now!
