Develop Unique Marketing Strategy Plans With MLM

By: Jodi Ouellette

For years in my MLM company, I worked under the basic concept of teaching duplication to the masses. I lived, breathed, ate, slept, and taught duplicating a system. Anyone working in my team was expected to follow the plan we had in place, because it was our main staple in our business. I didn't change how we operated because quite simply, it was working, and my family was enjoying a very comfortable living. Then one day I woke up and realized, not only was I absolutely burned out on that duplicable system, but I realized, I had become too focused on teaching only a handful of methods to my team. Reflecting on my experience, I also realized, that by limiting my strategies to one basic system, I also lost a lot of good people along the way. So, I opened new doors and started searching for more relevant marketing strategy plans, and learned there is an entire world of ideas and opportunities to unleash.
Let me share with you what inspired my transformation. By design, we are all created very different, and quite unique by nature. You see each of us have different skills, abilities, gifts and talents. If you stop to think about the MLM marketing strategy plans, does it really make sense to encourage people to try to be exactly like somebody else? It’s like trying to shove a square peg into a round hole. So many leaders today make the claim that they have a strategy that absolutely everyone can follow, however, I challenge you to evaluate this and question, do more team members get great results or does the majority of my team become discouraged and fade away? This is the real query, and when it comes right down to the facts, regardless of the system you teach, I would bet that a high percentage never duplicate, and only a select few maybe similar in personality, actually see real success. So what is the answer to this problem?

Think about how many more individuals we could truly help, if we simply understood that by updating the marketing strategy plans we use to incorporate more ideas, we could give our teams the advantage of working by using their individual skills. It would be incredibly foolish of us to think that anyone can use one particular MLM strategy and get the same results. The fact of the matter is, if you try shoving a method down a person’s throat, when they obviously are not getting it, or are not at all comfortable with it, ultimately you are forcing failure. Sooner or later, your relationship will decline, your team member's frustration will cause them to not trust you as a leader, and they will seek a new mentor and a new company. Stop trying to mold people to be just like you, instead, create an environment where people can become their personal best, by strengthening the talents they were given. These are the steps you can take to get started:

1. upgrade Your New Marketing Strategy Plans – Take the time to learn what MLM strategies are available from both your company, and outside sources. There are countless tools available to us today, so why limit yourself and your team? Everything ranging from old school methods like opportunity meetings, warm market approaches, DVD’s or CD’s, or cold calling, to more recent options like Internet marketing, blogs, video or article marketing, etc. With so many marketing ideas, I won't even begin to list them all.

2. Develop a Business Plan Questionnaire – Ask your team member to define their areas of strengths and weaknesses. The list could include things like communication, connecting with people, speaking, public speaking, writing, copyrighting, technical, Internet skills, computer skills, people skills, face to face, phone skills, sales, etc. Dig deep, explore their individuality, and really find out what their areas of gifting are. Also address their areas of challenge or weakness. Avoid forcing a person to do things they simply were not meant to do. An example would be asking an analytical numbers person to give a training on motivational speaking. Unless of course your accountant seconds as a motivational speaker.

3. Develop Their Unique Marketing Strategy Plans – Match your team members skills and strengths with the MLM strategy that best fits, and help them launch a campaign.

An important point I must stress; this isn't suggesting that our partners shouldn't stretch themselves and get outside of their comfort zones, I am simply encouraging you to allow people to excel first, in the areas that come natural to them.Through this process you can discover maybe one person absolutely loathes spending too much time in front of their pc, and prefers getting out into the public. Or another person is incredibly shy, and would prefer methods online or over the phone. Producing results is the initial goal, when a person gets results, they get more excited and their confidence increases, that is when you should suggest learning more methods and further developing new skills. By expanding your marketing strategy plans, you can accommodate more people, and furthermore, you can develop a great list of trainers in your team that offer expertise in different areas.

By upgrading your toolbox, you increase your ability to lead and direct your group, rather than dictating your choices. I truly believe that when you open yourself up to the idea of multiple marketing strategy plans, and eliminate the “one stop shop” training system, you can increase your results and increase your retention. At the end of the day, don't we accomplish our goals by helping others reach theirs? Make the decision today, open your mind, open your toolbox, acquire new skills, and make a difference.
