When talking about spirituality, I strive and focus on the common grounds that each one individuals who take into account themselves spiritual share, not not like superstitions that cross regions, families, and belief systems. I researched it online; I found that there are two sects of individuals - people who believe spirituality could be a half of organized religion and people who believe spirituality is the opposite of organized religion. I additionally found a startling amount of similarities in all belief systems that may be classified as spiritual. I could have missed some, but if I do, please point them out within the comment section below. Stories I was reading concerning totally different beliefs this morning on beliefnet.com, and I realized that each one belief systems have a love for stories. Most of the Bible is written during a story format, and to determine it translated into a up to date version causes you to realize how true that is (Strive The Word on the Street or The Message Bible). This morning, I scan a story from the Dalai Lama about wisdom. In the elements of the Qu'ran I have read, it absolutely was a storyline. The Native Yankee tribes not solely told their stories, but acted them out with elaborate costumes and music. Humanity has an awesome association to the story, and when the smallest kid, we tend to beg to hear more. We tend to soak up the events that are relayed with not only a plot, however learning character and morality by the experiences of others. We tend to, as an individual's race, are fixated on stories. We have a tendency to spend millions and billions of bucks on cable TV, books of all sorts (novels, biographies, poetry collections...) and then movies. Hollywood makes cash off of the telling and retelling of stories, and then once it's off the big screen, we have a tendency to pay additional money to rent or own it. At campfires, when dark, people tell ghost stories. The news has headline stories and stories of events that happened and events that will happen. Your grandfather has his favorite childhood story. Your mother tells you the story of when she first fell in love. Our hearts thrive on stories. The Divine Most folks who consider themselves religious believe that there is one thing larger than humanity at work. Whether it is a god or goddess, Mother Nature, or merely a belief in existential energy, there's one thing abundant bigger. We have a tendency to don't simply exist. We weren't just an accident. We tend to are not just alone in this huge world and even larger universe. There is a point and a reason for life. Worship Whether meditation, praise in song, or taking a walk in nature, nearly every belief system includes a kind of worship. There is something deeply spiritual to feel a deeper affiliation with the Divine. I used to be walking with my husband's step-mother recently, who is Norse Pagan. She was explaining to me a small amount regarding her beliefs and she told me that even the act of being outside was worship. Planting flowers was worship. Pruning and caring for her prized jasmine plants was worship. She said that merely connecting was enough. I assumed that was vastly stunning, and located much of myself as a Christian in that description. I have found myself singing internal praises at a lovely sunset and the sensation of connection to God is what my soul needed. One thing Bigger than Death Most belief systems do not state that when your heart stops beating, it's just like the lights have gone out and that's the top of the story. Really, in several, that's simply the beginning. Whether it's a life once death, reincarnation, or something else - there's an explanation. A story. A continued role to play. A gift or punishment. It does not just end. Morality and Human Nature I've found that almost all belief systems contain a code of morality that appears to begin much the method the oath doctors take: Do no harm. There's also an explanation of human nature that primarily describes our emotions to like and hate, to guard and damage, to be generous and to be mean. There's conjointly a concentrate on becoming higher than you were before. There's a growth process built in to any or all this, and to some, spirituality is additional about the journey of growth than the simple existence of a belief structure. Prayer The foremost religions of the planet place a massive focus on prayer and meditation, but they do not have the monopoly on it. Many belief systems contain a belief that a human can cry out to the Divine which prayer can be heard, and possibly answered. It's typically been said that so long as there are tests, there will be prayer in school. Humorous though it might be, humans have a deep want to own something beyond themselves help them change circumstances. Supernatural Intervention and Miracles And eventually, the answers to prayers. The cancerous growth that disappears before surgery. The car that narrowly missed you on the means to work. Needing to prevent for a band-aid and ending up late for work the morning the dual towers fell. We all appear to possess a deep belief that we are not alone during this huge mess of a world. We all see things that we tend to can't make a case for and we don't know if we want to elucidate, but somehow, it ended up the method we tend to hoped it would. We tend to browse about them in Reader's Digest, we tend to hear them from individuals we tend to meet at work, and friends tell about them in hushed awe-stricken tones over the phone. The supernatural at work is something that keeps us all going, and heaven is aware of humanity desires that much.
