In order for you to be able to receive and assimilate actual data you often have to wipe clean the bogus data as a preliminary activity. A technology does exist to erase bogus data but it can’t be done here in this article. But I will do the best possible job under the circumstances. I want to share with you a true handling for improving your fuel mileage. But first allow me to lay to rest some of the bogus information that have encountered. TO FRY OR NOT TO FRY? Are you really driving around in Florida in 100 degree heat with your air conditioner off, sizzling in order to lower your fuel consumption? Well breaking news for you that having your airconditioner off, if you have a efficiently running automoblie will only save you about 1 mile per gallon. Which necessitates this question.. is it worth it? But, if you want to have your a/c off for some reason (some people don’t prefer recycled oxygen) and have your windows open on the parkways, you should be aware that Consumer Reports did a study that refuted that claim that having windows open on the parkways actually caused sufficient drag to reduce gas mileage. What’s my message? Do what you like. Do what’s comfortable. “ONLY buy gas on Thursdays when the wind is from the East and the crescent moon is in the East or between 6:15 AM and 6:55 AM” Some car owners claim the best time to buy gas is on a Wednesday, when gasoline prices have settled back down from the weekend bump when oil companies typically increase prices. Well you can do your own checking of this at your local gas station and disprove the theory. Fact is that gas prices increase, gas prices go down. The only substantial bumps occur during Holidays so it does make sense to fill up a couple of days before a Holiday if you can and that will save you a bit. POWER DOWN Restart your engines – this is the most amusing one. Can you imagine being on the road with some driver in front of you who turned off their vehicle at every red traffic light just to lower your fuel consumption? Can you visualize if a large number of vehicles on the road were doing the same? It just hits me as a funny picture. And doing this won’t save much gas besides. Naturally your lowest mileage is when you have your engine on and sitting still but it doesn’t burn up very much. PADONK! PADONK! That is the noise of driving with a deformed tire. Yeah you need to keep your tires at appropriate pressure but for other reasons besides to lower your fuel consumption. You won’t do much except some minor improvement by making sure your tire pressure is perfect. DE-JUNK YOUR TRUNK You will save around 3-6 cents per gallon by emptying out the crap from your trunk and back seat. So, if you consume 15 gallons/week you save between 50 cents and $1 per week (and you spend how much on Starbucks? ) and that totals up to $25-50 per year!! Wow! Let’s have a party! READY FOR A REVOLUTION? What if you never had to buy another gallon of fuel again? Convert your fuel engine to hydrogen. If you do a partial (hybrid) conversion then you can expect savings on your fuel consumption of up to 30% maybe more. If you do this and also add acetone to your gas tank (which will save you another 25% or so) then you will have reduced your fuel consumption by a combined 50%! Put in about 2-3 ounces of acetone per 10 gallons of fuel and the fuel will evaporate less easily and you lower your fuel consumption by 25% or more. If you do a full gas to hydrogen conversion then you will have pumped your last gallon of fuel for the rest of your life. It is far easier than you might think, costs next to nothing, doesn't pollute the environment and you will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that you are conserving resources instead of using up more than your fair share.
