By: Chris Scott

The kind form and source of fuel today should not be supposed or taken for granted. The types and forms of power we use have implications on our economic state of affairs and the environment. For the previous century the use of fossil fuels has developed and developed. For over a century and still today the use of coal as a stable heating source and transportation fuel has been important. Since the 1930?s to today there is a much bigger use of liquid and gaseous fossil fuels. The use of these fuels nevertheless due to their effects of contributing hazardous levels of CO2 into the natural world has now got to change. The questions are what fuels and energy sources can substitute fossil fuels to meet our ever-increasing fuel demands. The most important point of view that is still shared by many that needs to change is that there is single answer. Some look to wind, some look to solar, wave, geothermal etc etc. The point is none of these forms of energy individually can meet our energy demands; the answer is therefore a parcel of these and other technologies. The answer is to decide the energy source based on the locations resources and power needs. Biomass is another form of a low carbon renewable energy source, which can be utilized in an power package for both heating and electricity.
