Have you noticed how many people are writing books on how to live a happier life. To be a happier person. You've all heard Bobby McFerrin's song 'Don't worry, be Happy". His message is so simple, so easy to apply, and yet we don't. Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from the stresses of life. Stress is linked to top causes of death such as heart desease, cancer and stroke. Someone once said, "the only thing in life that will always remain the same is, things will change". Even when times are seemingly unbearable, find some peace in knowing that it to will change. Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness. People are different, accept people for who or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments, let go of all resentment, and at all cost, refuse to partake or return Road Rage. Happiness is actually found in everyone, increasing it is a way to make a life more wonderful and also more healthy. To be happy is relatively easy, just decide to be a happy person. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their outlook to be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy. There are several ways you can get back your joy in a split second. Be grateful. We truly do have so much to be grateful for. Thank others for the smallest things. Be thankful you have coins in your pocket, a pillow to lay your head on, even the ability to walk, talk and breath. Be thankful just to be alive. There has to be 100s of times a day something small happens that you could give thanks for. News is stressful. Watch little or non for a week and see if your outlook doesn't change. 99% of it is bad news anyway. Always start and end your day on a positive note. Laugh and laugh heartily everyday. Find ways to make others laugh but be sure you are laughing with them and not at them. Laughter is the best medicine. Pray. With others or by yourself, just do it. Simple or complex, your choice. God doesn't care, he just wants to here from you often. Express your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to the people around you. They may or may not reciprocate your actions. Either is ok, you will benefit from your actions alone. Give 100% of yourself in all you do. Don't worry that someone else could do it better or faster. There is a tremendous amount of satifaction knowing you gave it your all. Learning is alot more joyful than we give it credit for. Learn something new everyday and be thankful that you are able to broaden your horizons everyday. Run, walk, jog, swim or some other form of exercise everyday and be thankful you can. Remember honest Abe said,"Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Smile. No matter how broke or broken you may feel, it's the one free thing no one else can take from you, unless you let them.
