Do you collect coins and stamps? If you do, how do you classify yourself?
Did the question yet to get in your thinking? Perhaps many of us collectors did not asked ourselves that kind of question but solely for the fun of it here are just a number of guides I think might appeal to you.
In reality there are many ways to assemble coins and stamps as well as the specialties of collectors or the types of collections they want. Here is how you classify the types of hobbyist
The basic or casual collectors
You can determine if you are one of the casual collectors if….
- You only collect but don't mind details
- Your collection is composed and more appealing because of the coins given to you as gifts
- You are collecting indiscriminately just for the fun of it
- Your collections consist of those that have been changed and modified usually are used in magic and such; those that are made commemorative, those with errors, or those that are demonetized.
- You collect whatever your age is and no matter where you are
- You do not shell out much money for gathering and preservations of your collections

The Intermediate Level - The curious collectors
You belong to this class of collectors if….
- You don't mind getting collections especially if they are inexpensive
- You are interested in browsing shops and could spend more time than a basic collector
- You consume more time surfing the internet looking at items already sold
- You collect coins and stamps with no clear-cut objective
- You are inclined to increase your intelligence and awareness of the items and might soon think of becoming an advanced collector as you start establishing your contacts with many serious collectors who inspire you in the hobby
- You are more interested on collecting these items than simply collecting them because you acknowledged them as gifts

The advanced collector
- You can classify yourself as an advanced collector if...
- You are either a "generalist" (a collector who wants to amassed a wide variety of stamps and coins) if you can to obtain an amazing collection in your available resource
- You most prefer collecting from certain historic period; nation or you prefer collecting items that have errors
- You investigate more than no matter which else on your hobby and you joined clubs for the sake of collecting knowledge
- You buy item if you really need them to fill out in your collections
- You collect with a clear cut objective
- You are expert on your hobby and you rely on your own when it comes to grading and valuing your items
No difference at all no matter what category of coin and stamp collectors you fit in to or what you aspire to be, it is your own pick. The most valuable is that you realize the hobby rewarding and it makes you feel good collecting what you assemble. You collect because the hobby is not fashionable; you collect because you love it.
