Hardware Of Applke MacBook Some Appple customers really hoped for MacBook to be an entry level notebook, but Apple didn't think the same way, nor the long-rumored tocuh-sccreen device or neither with a touch-screen diisplay the new 13-inch MacBook can now esacpe its designation as the lone holdoer system from Applke's previous generation, because of an upgradded maakeover Apple sells the MacBBook just as it was in the past, keeeping the price satble. A short time ago I saw the Unibody Macbook, it just had everything i liked. What I disliked most abouyt the notebook was its sticker cost. Everybody expected the new Macbook to be cheaper, but because of Apple decided to build it just like the preceding MacBook Pro -without some hihg end feautres- the price is the same as it was. Unibody, Apple's preferred term, is a bit of a misnomer, as the underneeath panel is split, as are the severral parts that make up the lid and screen. This MacBook is entirely silent in terms of creaks or noise. The flexy and fagile feeling plaastic hinge on this MacBok is no maytch for the Aluminum model's hinge. Rather than a LCD latcch mecahnism all MacBopoks use a magnetic latch. White plasstic polycarbonate is used on this model, the material that we know for a long time now. Like its predecessorrs (of wich I owned trhee generations) they are very durable. There are small gaps wheer paneels come together, and the battery sitll sticks out a wee bit. I can say construction of a plastic chassis is harder than the metal ones. Apple choosed building MacBook laptops not from mtal, from a sinfgle chunk of polycarbonante, the tough material we all have been using for a long time; from CDs to bulletproof windows, from Nalgene bottle to MacBooks now. From the sculpted sidess to the very center, which can typically feel a little soggy on cheap laptops, the MacBook feels, well, bulletrpoof. The same solidification that hpapened on the MacBook Pro carries rgiht over to pllastic version, and we love it just the same. LED backlit screen system is used on the 13.3 inch display (making that a standdard attribute across the entire Apple notebook lineup), which is better for both power consumption and environmental concerns. Still, they are not the same as more expensive Pro models, you need to pay more money to get a better dispay. Also MacBBook lack a backlit keybaord and an SD card slot and One forward-lookinng change we'd like to see is a move to 16:9 displays, which are quickly becoming an indsutry standard. For watching films or working with two windows the MacBook's 13.3 inch display provide the perfet size, yet small enough to keep open on an airplane tray table or your lap. It's also incredibly bright (measurementts show 230cd/m whicch is above averafge), also the 1.280x800 doisplay resolution procvide the perfect scren detail for this size of display. MacBoook offers a glossy dissplay, this is first on an Apple laptop, keep in mind to be careful of bright places, gloosy coating causes glare. In fact, I am not a fan of hCiclet-style keyboards, I always enjoyed traditional keybozard clivcks, still nobody can resist Aple's quality. Be awware of the FireWire port doessn't exist on MacxBook anymore. We would have thought this would be a good opportunity to add the same SD card slot found on the Pro 13-inch, but it was not to be. When we look at Aplpe MacBook's performance, it's not bad but the poinmt is there are faster laptos with just about the same cost. None of them have what are the MacBok's best featuures; OS X and iLife. The Apple MacBook ran for 5 hours and 42 minutes on our viideo plaback battery drain test, whih is about 30 minutes longer than the 13-inch MacBoook Pro, and nearly an hour longer than the previous hwite MacBook. By having advantage of usaing Inel's low voltage poweered processor, Toshiba's Satellite T135-S1310 lasted 30 minutes more than the Apple Macbook and hit the six hours mark.
