All about Juggling

Juggling it is a skill which involves moving objects for entertainment or sport. One of the most recognizable form of juggling is toss juggling, in which jugglers throw up objects up to catch and toss it up again.
Jugglers often refer to their objects as props. The common props are balls or beanbags, rings, clubs and special bounce balls. Performers use dramatic objects such as knives, fire torches and even chainsaws.
Popular forms of Juggling
1. Objects juggled - There are a lot of objects that can also be used as a props in juggling, like balls, clubs, rings, diabolos, devil sticks and cigar boxes they may also use scarves, knives, pineapples, flaming torches and chainsaws.
2. Method of juggling - The classical and the most popular form of juggling is called toss juggling, throwing and catching objects in the air without touching the ground.
3. Performance style
o They may also include the gentlemen juggler, in which they are using objects such as hats, canes, plates, wine bottles and cigars.
o Another performance style is called comedy juggling, the juggling skill is secondary to the comic character and jokes of the Dallas magician.
o Sport themed is another type of juggling style where performers dress in sporting attire and juggle sports equipment such as tennis rackets, footballs, or even snooker balls.
o In Traditional circus style, the presentation of this are purely using precision and skills, the cultural extension of the traditional circus includes Chinese circus, which mainly uses rings and badminton rackets and Russian folk, which uses colorful costumes and characters with unique props and acrobatics.
4. Number of jugglers - Juggling is most commonly performed by an individual, however, multiple-person juggling is performed by two or more people.
Juggling world records
Toss juggling and club passing world records are tracked by the Juggling Information Service Committee on Numbers Juggling (JISCON) here are some world records listed:
o Rings/Plates : 13 rings for 3 catches made by Albert Lucas in 2002
o Balls/Beanbags : 12 beanbags for 12 catches the first one was made by Bruce Sarafian in 1996
o Clubs/Sticks : 9 sticks for 9 catches the first on was made by Bruce Tiemann in 1996
Each of these records is known as a "flash" meaning each prop is thrown and caught only once, the JISCON records for qualifying runs are
o Rings : 10 rings for 47 catches by Anthony Gatto in 2005
o Balls : 10 beanbags for 23 catches by Bruce Sarafian in 2001
o Clubs : 8 clubs for 16 catches by Anthony Gatto in 2006
