Have you ever wondered... What this affiliate marketing is all about? I've viewed my fair share of products from vendors, but hadn't decided to look at it as a business opportunity until recently. While observing this interesting avenue of business, I thought it best to apply a bit of structure. There are roughly ten things one must do to become an affiliate marketer. The first thing is to sign up for an affiliate marketing account with a company such as, Click bank, Pay dot com, Commission Junction, or Link share. Click bank is the largest and most successful digital product seller, with Commission Junction, Linkshare and PaydotCom rounds out the four. After signing up, view the categories and select from the many products available. While there are literally hundreds of products to chose from, start off with a few products to get your feet wet. Having a few products won't overwhelm you. It will also allow you to decide if affiliate marketing is something you truly have a passion for. The next critical thing is to research the selected products you intend to market. Use Google External tool or products such as Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai to get an idea of what niches people are searching for. Appropriate keyword analysis is fundamental to an aspiring affiliate marketers research, as it provides the mechanism that links your products to you. Setup your blog or website. If you are blogging, I would look at Type pad, Word press, or Blogger. Type pad is a paid service. At Word press and Blogger, you can set up free accounts. All of the platforms are great blogging tools. Assess your needs and choose what suits your goals. Purchase a domain name from Go Daddy, or Domain.com. You will need to purchase a hosting account for your domain. Just host, Host gator, Cool handle and Go daddy, to name a few, provide great hosting packages to choose from. Sign up for an E zine article account. This is a great platform for submitting articles about your products. Write reviews on products you selected. Writing lends credibility to your research skills surrounding the product. Writing articles can also lead to a substantial source of traffic to your newly created blog or website. Make sure you have a plan. I can't stress planning enough. Planning gives you a sense of direction, it lets you know where you are, where you want to be, and how you are going to get there. Last, but not least...enjoy the ride. These ten things are by no means an exhaustive list, but they will get you started. Here is just a recap of 10 important things to consider to become an affiliate marketer. 1) Sign up for a click bank account.(or Pay dot com, Commission Junction, Link share) 2) Select a few products 3) Research the products with Google External tool, Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai 4) Set up blog or website 5) Purchase a domain 6) Purchase hosting 7) Sign up for an E zine Article account 8) Conduct product reviews 9) Plan your affiliate marketing endeavor 10)Enjoy the ride
